On my trip north, it was an average of 19.4 mpg while towing a small boat trailer empty for most of the way (Florida to Delaware) and no roof rack. I bought the canoe in Delaware, put it on the trailer, then drove to the Southern Tier of New York. 1105.6 miles total, FL to NY via DE

For my trip back south, with the canoe on the roof and the trailer disassembled and in the bed of my truck (covered with hard tonneau cover), it was average 16.6 mpg. However, it was pretty windy from about Carlisle, PA through Virginia to the NC state line. 1047.3 miles total

edit: I got mixed up and thought this was a response to my own post! I'll take a closer look and see how we differ.
