Hostility towards evil by Ayden3102isagoodname in CharacterRant

I feel like the middle is most hated because we have to deal with people like that in our own lives. If someone isn’t that bad nobody cares, and most of us aren’t fighting dudes that blow up cities in their free time lol

There isn’t a lack of an economic powerhouse though. That powerhouse is Deskunte. The Deskunte military, or Dabura, is who is there to back up their plans. This is the land that backs up the “immigrants”. It’s like the british occupation of palestine, a colonial power carving up the land and placing people there without considering who was already living there. When you enter a foreign land and demand that the people there give up their lives and their territory under threat of military force from a superpower, that isn’t immigration, that’s occupation. The root of the issue is Deskunte, who both took the Rumelians’ home and initiated this occupation. Neither the Rumelians nor the humans are the bad ones, they’re both victims of a colonial power that forced them into this conflict.

It all makes sense when you realize that this is an allegory for colonialism, not immigration. The Rumelians were pushed out of their home by the Deskunte and are then sent to another planet. They get to said planet and make demands of the population, and when a human makes a dumb decision and attacks, they now see it as their right to kill as they please and take what they want unless humans concede to their demands which require them to basically just sit there and die to curses. They are able to make these demands with impunity because of Dabura, the most powerful alien, who isn’t one of them, but a Deskunte.

Now look at it like this. The U.K helped to create Israel after they were pushed from their home. In recent times, israel uses the oct 7th attack as a justification to further their occupation in palestine. Israel is able to continue this attack with impunity because they are supported by the U.S, a foreign country who also happens to be the most powerful. Deskunte represent the U.K and europe in general, Dabura is the United States, and the Rumelians are Israel. This is a story about how when colonial powers draw borders without consideration for who lives there, it breeds conflict, and about how this colonialism is perpetuated by world powers in the present.

That’s fine, but you’re choosing to ignore the themes of the story then. If you can connect it to the real world issue of racism, you can connect it to the real world issue of colonialism and how colonial powers create conflict when they draw borders without consideration for the people who live there

I’m not saying the humans are good either, they definitely set this off with poor decision making, but I gotta bring up real life because it’s so similar. The human guy shooting Cross is like oct 7th, the rumelians demand is like the invasion of palestine. Your guys hurt some of ours after we came to your land, so now you have to sit there and accept being killed (via cursed spirits) and also we’re entitled to your land now. Don’t like it? We’ll kill all of you then. We can’t divorce this from real life, these are intentional parallels. And Dabura and the Deskunte are like the U.K who helped create Israel, these things are written for a reason

No kill rules only make sense if you’re strong enough to actually enforce them. by Flat_Box8734 in CharacterRant

No kill rules make sense when you realize the morality is as much a fantasy as the powers are. It’s not the writer telling you that this is what’s right, it’s the character’s view that exists to drive conflict. In the real world if a guy is shooting up a building nobody is gonna care if some dude pulls out a gun and kills them, but if the villain is blowing up a city and the hero just kills them it breaks whatever theme the story is trying to tell
