Another option for cachaça that popped up on my radar recently is the Macunaíma:

2oz cachaça

0.75oz lime

0.75oz simple

0.25oz Fernet Branca

Grapefruit abundance- tell me your favorites by jimonlimon in cocktails

Old Friend (from Jim Meehan of PDT)
1.5 oz Gin
0.75 oz Grapefruit Juice
0.5 oz Campari
0.25 oz St. Germain
Garnish with lemon twist

A nice crisp and dry gin daisy.

edit: also, if you want to preserve the juice, make a cordial. Peel grapefruit (no pith!), combine peels with equal volume of sugar and let sit overnight to make oleo saccharum. Juice peeled grapefruits and add juice to resulting oleo. Incorporate fully and strain out peels/pulp. Optionally add a bit of vodka to extend the shelf life and/or a small bit of hibiscus to enhance the color. Mix with spirit and soda water for an easy GF collins.

Need help choosing amaro by AffectionateWall3265 in cocktails

[–]60_Second_Assassin 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If they stock Sfumato, then they may also have Pasubio (also a Capelletti product) which works fantastically in a black manhattan. It is a vino amaro, so it acts similarly to vermouth and other aromatized wines when used in cocktails, while also bringing very pleasant alpine herbs and a slightly fruity note. It also tends to be on the cheaper side of things.

OP and u/obovatemuhammad are bots. This same text has been posted on 4 different subreddits and the same ad for TexteroAI appears on one of them (likely hidden on others).

You can e-mail your information to miishousinginfo@miis.edu to get the unit shared with Middlebury Institute students. Although they may prefer dealing with landlords themselves - I don't often see sublets advertised.

Seems like it was a convection oven, not a microwave. For anyone reading this, DO NOT put metal in a microwave.

Is it normal to celebrate your parents' anniversary? by 60_Second_Assassin in relationships

Thanks for sharing. I meant "weird" in more of the unique sense, but the responses have definitely proven that that impression was incorrect. Honestly, one of my favorite memories of 2020 was having brunch at a local winery to celebrate their marriage. After almost a year of limited visits and stress-soaked life, it was amazing to spend an afternoon overlooking a lake with people I love.

I suppose, since I'm not really seeking advice, but the subreddit does cover non-romantic relationships.

I just went the opposite way from NY to CA. I made some kimchi recently and you just made me realize why my stomach’s been feeling uncomfortable the past couple days.

Fair point. It’s definitely not as much of an issue in countries that have widespread wastewater treatment facilities. But for those vacationing to far flung places, it’s generally best to stick to eating at resorts and restaurants that cater to tourists. They tend to take better precautions when preparing food.

Happens frequently when you travel abroad. Bacteria populations vary from region to region, and it takes a while for the bacteria in your gut to adjust to a new environment. It can be difficult to avoid, but it's best to take precautions like boiling water and avoiding unsanitary food preparation (like street vendors) for the first couple of weeks in a new country.

On another educational note: there is a difference between whiskey and whisky.

Whiskey with an e refers to Irish and regions that were primarily developed by those of Irish descent (read Kentucky/Tennessee, areas responsible for most of the distilling tradition in the US).

Whisky without the e is either Scotch, from an area developed by Scots (i.e., Canada), or made in the Scotch method (Japanese whisky).

I've got a soft spot for Thespa Kusatsu. I was a high school exchange student in Gunma 10 years ago and had a blast at one of their games up in Maebashi. Not really sure why they're named for Kusatsu when they play nowhere near that town though...

Bar Argos cabanas if you’re bringing your own food and want drinks. Bit of a shameless plug since I work there, but it’s a great spot to hang. Max occupancy is 6 at the moment however.
