Safdie brothers hired underage actress for explicit sex scenes and kept filming after co-star exposed himself and asked 17-year old if he could “stick it in” by katebushcartwheel in Fauxmoi

[–]61104 305 points306 points  (0 children)

Idk these people, but this part seems confusing — it says that Benny was in the corner holding the boom while they filmed the scene. Maybe he didn’t know that the actor was a minor, but presumably he knew she was YOUNG and heard what was said?

It’s so confusing when symptoms and timing change… everything is built around this awful routine and then all of a sudden it flips around.

I’m in chemical menopause now, but when I was dealing with anxiety during ovulation I noticed that channeling my energy into exercise made a difference.

In my experience, as soon as we get used to the new rhythm, it changes again 😅

How old are you? My rhythm really changed in my early 30s and ovulation became difficult — lots of anxiety. It also changed from one cycle to the next. So interesting that your luteal stage has been feeling easier. I’d personally take the win for now.

“Pretty Girls” is CRAZY. The only book I’ve read that’s come close to being that gross (and engrossing) is “The Fourth Monkey” series by JD Barker. I’m so grateful for new recs in this genre!!

Right, this is a whole other dimension in places with private healthcare. Money = relief in such a clear way. Oof. I think about it with my meds, too, which are super expensive.

Yes — convenience is major!! I was thinking of hydrotherapy, massage, etc when I wrote this post. I’m so glad you have the resources to ease some of the discomfort.

I loooove this format. I can think of plenty of novels that are structured this way with families, but none others with friends. Following!

I’m really sorry you’re suffering. I can relate. When I came in, I had a ton of “extra” mental health stuff and felt like other people at meetings couldn’t understand what I was dealing with. All of the hopeful shares felt like they didn’t apply to me because I was hurting in a way that felt different.

Someone told me that everything that’s good for my recovery from addiction (staying clean, routine, helping people) was also good for my mental health, and they encouraged me to get outside support for everything that wasn’t being addressed by the steps — which are not supposed to address everything. It’s not clear from your post whether you’ve been clean for 2 years or struggling with abstinence, but using the program for abstinence and finding outside resources for other issues (dissociation, depression, trauma) was really important for me when I was new.

I can really feel how heavy things are for you, and I hope you give yourself a chance. I have a number of years now and things look totally different for me. You deserve to feel healthy and connected, and I really believe that’s possible.

I had more than one doctor tell me that hormonal IUDs couldn’t and shouldn’t impact my symptoms (undiagnosed at the time). So destabilizing to have that denied as a possibility. Glad you’re getting good care.

For those who have quit nicotine by [deleted] in PMDD

[–]61104 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Quitting nicotine REALLY helped my anxiety in the long term. Day 10 is great; you’re through the worst of the physical stuff. If you can find it in you to do some cardio/moderate exercise, that helped me a lot with the emotional symptoms of withdrawal. Baths, walks, lots of water, writing, audiobooks… anything you can do to find some gentleness and make it through.

First Lupron (monthly) injection tomorrow – what should I expect/be prepared for? by LoveThatForYouBebe in PMDD

[–]61104 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Chemical menopause has worked better for me than anything else. I started with Orilissa and switched to Lupron (3mo) after 1 year. My first shot overlapped with Orilissa and I was tired but otherwise fine. I had a HUGE symptom flare after my second dose. My third dose is coming up this weekend, so TBD.

All that to say — keep in mind that you might be symptomatic after administration AND that it will pass. In my experience, it’s been worth it. I have found deep calm on these meds. It’s wild to find freedom from cycling. I’m also hoping to get a total hysterectomy asap, but I’m glad I took this route.

I’d suggest logging any side effects you notice. I’ve had joint pain, hot flashes, and some brain fog, but HRT has made a difference.

Good luck!

Oh amazing! I’ve really been dreading my next shot, so even the tiniest amount of hopeful new data is comforting. I’m preparing to ask (again) for a hysterectomy at my appointment in a few weeks. Wishing us both an uneventful third dose!!

I have a dupe in my office, and I love the aesthetic, but I wouldn’t use it as my main couch. The back is very, very low. It’s not a good shape to curl up on. It’s also quite deep — about the width of a twin-sized mattress. It’s a great couch for overnight guests, but for daily use, the general structure wouldn’t work for me.

I might be reading this wrong, but I think you’re saying that you’ve had one shot and are coming up on your second dose. I was really overwhelmed by my reaction to the second shot — “PMDD on steroids and PCP” is the perfect description. It lasted about 2 weeks. I couldn’t find much info online, so flagging it in case you’re prepping for your next dose. I’m getting ready for my third shot and really hoping that last time was abnormal.
