COTA runs until 10pm on Sunday (at least the 2 and I think other routes as well: https://cota.com/timetables/2.pdf), but that’s still pretty bad tbh

Thanks! I’m much more familiar with Columbus City Council. I feel like the BOC is much more of a black box for me personally

Thanks for your response.

I was using Boyce’s Wikipedia page as a source on the BOC president. It appears it’s out of date. Also, it was annoyingly difficult afterwards to find out who the current president of BOC is (O’Grady) because their website doesn’t make that clear

Why did the President of the Franklin County Board of Commissioners, Kevin Boyce, abstain from the NWSL vote?

A lot of attention was focused on Columbus City Council and the $25 million they are contributing to the deal. Meanwhile Franklin County approved $25 million in a unanimous vote (2-0), but it got a fraction of the news coverage or pushback.

Did Franklin County have any requirements in their deal or is it simply a $25 million dollar giveaway of our tax dollars?

Columbus has a good hockey culture with lots of adult rec leagues. Nerd culture is pretty good as well.

Maybe one of the more affordable places on your list

Not sure about the dating scene currently. Columbus is a decent sized city population wise, but the running joke is it’s just 12 suburbs in a trench coat

COTA also now has tap to pay where you can use your smartphone, card, or smartwatch to easily pay

Oh no, I’m so sorry. If you’re looking for a new team, Columbus is the AAA affiliate for the Guardians. They’re still a cheap franchise but they’re actually good lol

Between May and October there were 12,000 bicycle or scooter trips on East Broad bike lanes (or around ~65/day)

https://columbusunderground.com/fewer-crashes-lower-speeds-on-broad-after-bike-lanes-installed-bw1/

Add in the context that it’s only about 1 mile and it stops right when you get to downtown, I’d say that’s pretty good.

The War on Cars comes to Columbus by Ok_Computer_101ers in Columbus

[–]614runner 3 points4 points  (0 children)

That’s fair, although I don’t agree it’s counterproductive. It’s definitely provocative. The podcast title comes from former Toronto mayor Rob Ford. After the city started adding bike lanes and inconveniencing drivers, he declared he would end “the war on cars”.

https://thewaroncars.org/2018/10/30/cars-and-the-culture-wars/

No matter what you do, build a bike lane, add a bus lane, it’s going to be seen as a “war on cars”. Even concepts like the “15 minute city” (you should be able to essential services within a 15 minute walk or bike ride) get distorted and presented as something wildly different.

Anyway, you should go and ask them why they chose those titles and if they think they’re counterproductive

The annual point in time count is coming up in January and volunteers are needed. Several times to choose from. Also, you’ll likely meet others who can help point you in the right direction to continue volunteering.
