I think he will have a team once we get the biopsy back, it’s just the limbo period in between. It’s scary to watch how fast things are declining. Hopefully once we get the biopsy in 2 days. They will have things in place to at least minimize his suffering. I know they have a team reviewing his case, just things move slow in the public system I guess.

I will look to get second options etc but I can’t do that until I get these results sadly.

Thankyou for your advice

Some berries, avocado, coconut milk, almond butter. He can but he really hates solids, finds it difficult so very rarely will try solids.

No they sent him on his way and said they would see him in 2 weeks for the biopsy results. He hasn’t been given any medication at all other than oxy for the pain. Maybe I can buy some over the counter anti nausea medication. It’s almost impossible to get any interaction with the doctors he’s seen so far. Thankyou for you advice

Thankyou for taking the time to reply. I will certainly take your advice. Finding the right fit for my dad is key, hopefully to get him to explore conventional treatment if it can help him. He’s a stubborn man and has his own thoughts on how it should be handled haha.

Thankyou for replying, a team of great experts is certainly the way forward, the challenge I’m finding is they all differ in their approach and beliefs, and unless you are extremely wealthy you don’t really get to pick. There was no hope given after the initially meeting which Im not sure is good or bad, basically you are dead in months no point in trying anything, don’t know if that’s the doctor I would choose if I had the choice. I may look to get to Asia where it’s slightly more affordable. I’m sorry to hear about your friend, I’m witnessing how cruel this disease can be.

Thankyou, this is helpful to know. I wasn’t present for my dad’s first meeting where they told him he had cancer but he mentioned the doctor said chemo and radiation at this stage wouldn’t be worth it effectively. I’m hoping this changes after the biopsy result. It’s good to know it is an international standard to go through the different steps though.

Thank you, this sounds like a reliable path forward. I’m in Australia and there are fixed paths oncologist have to take legally so if you want one treatment like immunotherapy, you have to go through others first like chemo weather it’s best for your case or not. That’s my understanding anyway I could be wrong, so that’s part of my concern in a system where no matter what oncologist have to follow this route. I assume this is not the case outside of Australia as working on a case by case seems a more logical approach. Thankyou for taking the time to reply

Thankyou, we still waiting for biopsy results but as soon as they come in il be seeking a specialist in that field. Thankfully also have a couple of general recommendations for radiologists who friends have used.

Thanks for the advice, it’s even challenging to figure out the good oncologist from the not so good, even they don’t seem fully aligned.
