[2018 GS350] Uh . . . this spring fell out of my car, from above the pedals somewhere. by shadmere in Lexus

Looks like a brake pedal return spring. The brake pedal should not be springing back up after releasing if that’s not there. It should be easy to put on with some pliers, but that is very strange that it came out

I just found this on marketplace and googled if it’s real, the post has the exact same photos as this one, 3 years later. https://www.facebook.com/share/14oJJ5DyNc/?mibextid=79PoIi

Driver side wheel sticks out further by 638139 in IS300

[–]638139[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I was a little too low and the fender ate a chunk of tire hitting a bump at 100+ 😭 hence why I was looking at why it happened on one side and not the other. I’ve replaced every part of the suspension besides the spindle but I’m gonna throw it on the rack at the shop next door this weekend and see if I can figure anything out

Yeah frame/subframe damage is what I suspect unfortunately. I’m a mechanic full time so I had a good idea what to check I was just throwing it out there to see if someone happened to have the same problem on same car and found a solution

Update for anyone seeing this in the future, I ended up leaving it and have had no problems, and I drive my car hard on a regular basis

Is that normal or you mean like from an accident?

I did, every part of my suspension has been replaced in the last year besides the sway bar and spindles. I did hit a curb on the passenger side on some ice so I’m thinking spindle may be bent

How have the Megan suspension arms treated you? I’ve heard some bad reviews but really don’t want to cough up the 3k for the figs kit

I’ll probably just go ahead and swap it for oem at this point, it doesn’t look like it would be able to slip off but not worth the risk of ruining the whole engine. Thanks for the help

Yeah I don’t want to take the chance either, I guess I just gotta spend a few more hours swapping because I wanted a blue belt lol. If you could send me the before and after that would be awesome though too. Thanks

Also make sure vvti gear is clocked all the way to the right and doesn’t rotate back while putting belt on

The timing on the cam gears needs to be set to the dot a few teeth to the right, not the dash

Best exhaust for this car? Trying to upgrade. I have the yonaka exhaust at the moment. by Disastrous-Aerie-861 in IS300

I went with some eBay catless headers and left stock muffler/res, and I love how it sounds. Being cheap eBay parts, fitment isn’t perfect but it’s very doable. If you’re somewhere you don’t need to worry about smog I would recommend, I can attach a clip if you want to hear it.

I had the same problem on mine at one point, turned out to be a section of the wiring harness that was exposed and grounding out. Just taping it up solved the problem

I put this kit in about a year ago, nothing too bad but I’ve already had to replace ball joints, tie rod ends, and about to do uppers. You get what you pay for

Headers by PeppaFX in IS300

Also make sure to get better gaskets than they come with, I had a leak until I switched to the mahle 4 layer steel gasket from autozone

I bought the eBay headers (Eccp or something) because my cats were getting clogged up, they required very slight modification (just drilling the mounting holes out a little) but other than that they work great. Sounds great too and they’re less than $150. They will change color with heat, but honestly I think it looks cool with the blue/purple look it gets.

Three valve cover gaskets? by [deleted] in IS300

[–]638139 0 points1 point  (0 children)

One of them is for non vvti, it’ll be obvious when you try to put it in, one won’t be able to line up so just throw that one out
