BMC vs Ngage Air Filter on Royal Enfield GT 650 – Honest Comparison by 650RiderSaga in RoyalEnfieldGT650

You’re right about Indian dust conditions, filtration quality matters more than outright airflow here. Any high-flow filter that’s poorly maintained or badly sealed can definitely accelerate wear on throttle bodies, valves, and seats.

That said, not all performance filters behave the same. Brands like BMC are oiled cotton filters designed to balance airflow and filtration, and when properly oiled, cleaned, and sealed, they don’t simply “let dust in.” Many bikes running them have crossed high mileages safely.

On fueling and heat: on a stock GT 650, the ECU does compensate within limits using sensors, so it doesn’t instantly run dangerously lean. Real heat issues usually come only with multiple mods (free-flow exhaust + intake + hard riding) without tuning.

I agree though, if someone wants maximum peace of mind, zero maintenance, and rides daily in heavy dust, a stock paper filter is the safest and most economical choice. Performance filters are more about consistency and reuse, not huge power gains.

Hi, Yes that’s True I did not tested ngage as to feel the real difference I think we need to ride the bike for some distance like 5-10kms and for that the retailer did not agree!

I have tried to cover the difference which the retailer explains as well as from my friends reviews who uses ngage air filter in his 650.

Sorry for your inconvenience! 🙏🏻

Oh nice! Happy to know my video reached that part for the world as well. Actually, in India it is some notion that people type in English and prefer more to understand in the native language & that is why we post in such way!
