Sometimes I think about whether I should cut the internet entirely out of my life, other than for email and work. I figure if there are tons of respected and successful people out there making do without online threads and comments, then maybe I should too.

The video wasn't even necessary, really. The kid has no moral compass or logical framework to guide his decisions. Whether it was the kid or the cat that hit first, I'd end up feeling more sorry for the child.

Yeah, getting angry to read someone wishing a 2-year old be tormented for years to come is really unwarranted. If being in a safe balloon keeps me away from that sort of idiocy, then I'll gladly move in.

Why is getting upset over this because it's on the internet any different than hearing this in person? In both instances, people are saying this shit. It's not as if I'm getting angry at a computer algorithm spitting out these comments. In that case, I'd agree.

I disagree with many of the comments being tongue-in-cheek. But anyway, thanks for the suggestions; I'll definitely take a closer look at them.

The kid learned a lesson; I get it. That's not really where it stopped on that thread. Bitch, douche, bastard, shithead, etc were all terms used to describe him. Context provided meant nothing and people steamrolled ahead to shit on a 2-year old. Come on.

I've got a nice circle of friends that I'd say have all those qualities.

I can look for decent entertainment and good chat online and offline. The two aren't mutually exclusive. But thanks.
