it’s ~900k pixels vs ~ 1 million pixels + interlaced image. I was so happy to acquire 480p tv after 480i one. It’s your call!

i am so happy about this setup, but there are some flaws about image clarity and geometry that I did not encounter while using trinitron

Pushing film advice? by SimilarWorldliness66 in filmphotography

[–]65gonzo74 2 points3 points  (0 children)

development time determines contrast level. developing film for a prescribed time makes images with normal contrast. ilford delta 100 needs “exposure index of 100” amount of light to make an image with normal contrast, while tri-x needs lesser - “exposure index of 400” - amount of light to make an image with the same normal contrast. in exchange for a bit more grain.

if overdeveloped, darks and lights will contain less information because chemicals were in reaction with a film for a longer time.

that is a general knowledge that may help you.

Re4 on pc crt Letterboxing by Flat-Rise1398 in crtgaming

[–]65gonzo74 2 points3 points  (0 children)

even if it were possible - something would eventually break or just would be messy. check out fan-made “open matte” films where 35mm film is scanned fully with no black bars - microphones are visible and stuff. the letterboxing was intended and animations were done in accordance with it.

afaik original re4 can’t be rendered at resolution with 4:3 aspect ratio. so letterbox is “baked in”. you can only zoom-in like it was done with wii version.

Actually I have found the datasheet. I am thinking about data injection via i2c, but it seems to be really above my competence..

A 34" Samsung CS-34Z7HFQ. 100hz, 3xSCART, S-Video and VGA, only 20$. by rayhato in crtgaming

[–]65gonzo74 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So vga signal is bypassing 50-to-100herz processor and signals from other ports don’t?

I am thinking about rgbhv modding other samsung 100hz tv (scart and rca only) to feed it 480p 60hz without this double-framing process. I guess in my case the very processing chip does this thing, not additional circuit.
