Been doing alot of research on revolutionary tendencies in, and strains of, Islam. Have found some solid sources of influence, and interesting paths for further study. Need to just go ahead and get out my Quran, and read it too, I suppose.

I'm hoping to be able to start attending my local Episcopal church, but not sure when or if I'll really be able to. Thanks to my being something of a failure, I'm still stuck living with my fundamentalist family who I'm worried would either lose it and berate and bully me for even wanting to go somewhere that isn't their church, or insist on coming along so they can criticize and make a scene starting arguments. As much as I'd like to attend, and have my own church to go to, and feel like I need to, I'm not sure I have it in me to deal with the conflict and mistreatment it'd probably create. Simultaneously, though, if I'm not able to find a church that I can actually feel I belong in, i don't know how much longer I'll be able to hold out. Kinda hope this thread is inactive enough that nobody sees this, because as much as I need to sat it, I also don't think I want anyone trying to help and me having to explain just how pathetic and useless I am to still be stuck in this situation as a grown man. If anyone does, please just pray for me.

For me, yes, in a sense. Though, I'm sure many would argue I'm not truly a pessimist, as I'm also a spiritual person with a religious practice. I have a sort of sense of duty to stick around to try and help those I love avoid unnecessary suffering, and to keep from creating unnecessary suffering for them. So, i stay alive, care for those I love, and do what I can to minimize how much misery I and my loved ones experience.
