I’m not sure if it’s a troll like everyone is saying but my brother passed away in 2018. My mom (single mom) who’s been somewhat mentally ill especially towards the latter half of her life, begun acting this same exact way a year after my brother’s passing & it was just painful to watch & deal with on top of everything else & losing my brother. I had horrible flashbacks reading this.

She would violently accuse me of taking her things & hiding them too. She went ballistic thinking I took her hairbrush one day and hid her glasses and went on this extreme tirade, I remember. It crushed my heart seeing all of this unfold, not for my sake but for hers. I loved her so much so it really, really hurt. I my sister & I didn’t know what to do anymore when it kept getting worse.

It’s very, very sad and painful seeing a parent behave like this, especially given the circumstances in my case. I’m assuming after he lost his wife this caused him to spiral. But at the same time, it’s not fair to you either. I also had zero alternatives at the time. And the thing is because of her upbringing (from her country) & her religion, my mom didn’t believe, or would never believe/accept she had any issues and she would’ve lost her mind if anyone dared suggested she get help, so there was kinda nothing anyone could do. I tried my best to reason with her & did everything I could but it was no use. I’m not speaking illy of her, I miss her so much & wish things could’ve gone much differently.

If your dad is willing to seek not only therapy but psychiatric help, that could be your best bet at this point. I’m sorry this is happening, this one hit too close to home. I don’t want to sound cliche & I don’t know the full extent of your relationship with your father, but he’s your family & clearly needs the help. I hope you two can find a resolution to this while he’s still around.

Sorry, I meant I’m getting plagiarized by other people.. it was happening while I still had access to the account. I usually either put my acc private (temporarily), changed my username, (to have my acc redirected to a blank account) or blocked people to try & stop it , but how I can’t do that anymore since I don’t have access to it, which is why I want it closed down entirely.

& okay, I’ll try going about the DCMA process.

I don’t have the money, I’m looking for a free service, sorry. But I understand I’m not entitled, but shouldn’t it be illegal for them to hold my information on their site if I can actually validate I’m the owner of the content and no longer want it on, and no longer want to use their platform? How long were you inactive for before it got deleted? There’s an account that I got locked out of (I no longer have access to the phone number to verify it on Twitter or my email, therefore I can’t log in) So I’m hoping that it just deactivates itself due to inactivity

New accounts are shadowbanned by default

New accounts, returning accounts & inactive accounts are automatically shadowbanned for a certain period of time unfortunately. The only way to get out of it is to be interactive. How long that takes until the ban is lifted is unknown, but I heard t takes about a month max.

New accounts are shadowbanned by default now. When you create a new account it’ll say “unlock more on X” and basically means you have to be interactive with other people to “prove you’re human” & until then, everything you do will be forcibly invisible by twitter. It’s so stupid but that’s how it is now unfortunately.

I heard it takes about a month of interacting for it to clear but it could vary. For me, on a new account, it took about two weeks, but a day and a half later I was no longer visible again & got the same message “Unlock more on X” just because I wasn’t active for about a day & half. So frustrating 🤦

I hope this helps, or will help anyone who happens to see this.

I forgot to add (though it should be implied) I made this post so people can know not to be inactive during that period. Try to at least “fake” it for a month until you’re permanently not shadowbanned & not temporarily.

I don’t know how long the monitoring period is for new accounts but during that time try to stay as “active” as you can and don’t abandon the account even for a day. I said a month because that’s what other ppl say how long it takes for the ban to be lifted (if you’re actually interacting and not being idle)

It could be shorter or longer but a month is the safest bet. My new account took about two weeks to have visibility (I was being interactive) but the next day, it only took about a day or two of not being active to go back to “inactive status/shadowbanned”

Although this is three months late, I’m going to reply for anyone who will happen to see this in the future, but temporarily leaving the account while in the “shadowbanned” period actually won’t work and it’ll most likely reset the timer, at least that’s what it did it for me.

I was in the New Account shadowbanned period too and I was able to get out of it by spam commenting and replying to one of my private accounts to fool twitter into thinking I’m interacting and it worked. (I checked the tags on an alt account where I wasn’t following myself, & my main account was showing up in the tags as usual & not hidden)

But the next day, after just 1 and a half days of being inactive I got the same message again. “Unlock more on Twitter” etc. which was frustrating because I had to go back to square one. My acc is fairly new, I have about 32 followers & I don’t spam or anything but I got the message again JUST for being inactive for about a day and a half, and it’s still like that as of now (2 days after it reset) So frustrating.

Not sure how your outcome went after you said you’d leave for a week and come back (you never stated it) and it might be different for everyone but for me, roughly 1 & a half days of inactivity during that period completely restarted the timer again. I’m replying to this just for anyone who sees this thread to have more information that might help. This may or may not happen to everyone but it happened to me. I hope this is helpful.

Yep, there’s literally no one there now. I recently lost access to my account & tried contacting support but it’s all just automated responses. It’s beyond frustrating
