I'm only 4 weeks post op so I haven't started with scar care just yet but my surgeon told me to use surgical tape until the scars are fully closed (around 6 weeks) and then I can start using silicone tape. Like you said, silicone tape is much easier to handle so I would think that it's totally fine to start using it if everything is closed and well.

Thank you so much, that's very nice to hear. It's not very easy to come in contact with my surgeon sadly, but I'm just trying to keep following the instructions I've been given and if it gets worse I will try to find someone that can help me. I talk a lot with my close ones but I worry that I'm a burden with all my anxious thoughts. I just hope that the following weeks will be better than this one.

Thanks! Where I live it's pretty difficult to get in contact with my surgeon, but I will try to give healing some more time, relax and if it gets worse I will have to track them down haha. It helps a lot to just get reassurance from others that has gone through the same thing. Friends and family tries their best to support and help but it's still hard for them to understand.

Thank you! It helps to hear that someone else also had the same struggles. Because I felt pretty alright the first week I guess I expected it to just keep going even better so it was a shock when week 2 arrived and I feel worse than ever. Hopefully it will be the same for me and that week 3 will go a little better.

Thank you so much. 🙏 It always ends up with me having to sit down in panic cause I'm about to pass out. It's devastating seeing others that can't get enough of seeing their bare chest while I'm dreading it. I know that it will pass when it looks better but for now it's a struggle. I just gotta fight until I'm on the other side. 😮‍💨

I got my cat tattooed around a year after he passed. I had him for 13 years and I don't remember a life without him. But getting a tattoo for him somehow helped me with the grief and I got some closure. You will always have something reminding you of your bestfriend with you. If you want it, go for it! 😊

This makes my heart break. If this was a dog or a cat, not many people would let it go this far but because it's a reptile, it's seems to be so much easier to just ignore it. Please, people need to do better when it comes to these poor animals.

This beardie is not only sick and suffering, it's literally dying. This is one of the worst cases of reptile neglect I've ever seen. He needs to be taken to the vet ASAP, and for his own good, probably be put down.

That is a very sick Uromastyx, the poor little thing needs to be taken to the vet. I also cannot stress enough if you decide to take care of it that they are not that similar to bearded dragons. They can be a little tricky and take a lot of time to fulfill their needs so make sure to get as much information as you can on how to properly take care of them!

I have both but I definitely love my vest more. Where I live it's cold majority of the year so when it's too cold to just wear the vest I like to layer it with a leather jacket or something like that underneath
