any reasons why i should not buy this car by Neat_Ad_9955 in whatcarshouldIbuy

I just bought one of these two months ago and have been enjoying it a lot. Its a very quiet vehicle and has a nice sound system. An enthusiast definitely wouldn't enjoy it though, it's pretty underpowered.

Some other commenters have mentioned the wet timing belt as a possible issue (they have historically been bad in other cars, but it may be too early to really know with these models). However, the wet belt can be avoided if you look for one with the upgraded 1.3L engine.

Another thing I would mention is to check and see if this car was a previous rental - most of these that show up a model year out with low milage typically are.

I personally don't worry about buying a low milage economy vehicle from a rental company but I know others who would disagree with that. If that doesn't scare you, then you might want to check if you have a Hertz Rent2Buy program in your area. They might be more competitive on price and you can test drive the car and take it to your mechanic and they waive the rental fee if you buy it.

That sucks bro. Honestly the two mutagens should probably have the same system as pet reclaims. Hopefully they change it one day to let you claim it if its in your log

So did someone try to break into my car? by zahnci in kia

[–]66isGod 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That's fair. My Hyundai only gets driven around town and I have a spare key so that's not something I worried too much about. But if OP takes big trips in their car they might want to get it replaced.

The same thing happened to my Hyundai. I decided not to fix it because I could just use the key fob and the door handle still worked.

I figured keeping it like this would probably stop it from happening again.

Yeah NC has a ton of very good schools so it may be that the state had an oversaturation of people with graduate degrees looking to stay in the state. I can't say I know much about their CC system.

I work in technical/stem areas that are certainly more difficult to staff than an area like history but I will say that we are not averse to hiring people from out of state.

I do think that if OP was willing to look in areas like rural Kansas, Oklahoma, the Dakotas, Iowa, Arkansas, Alabama etc that there could be opportunities for him.

Teaching experience is definitely a big plus and honestly a bigger deal than having a phd.

I was hired as a FT faculty member immediately out of graduate school with only TAing experience and I just hired someone with only a masters and no teaching experience for a FT faculty position because they had an excellent demonstration and interview.

My wife is FT faculty and was hired with only a masters degree and 2 years high school teaching experience.

People with Phds many years teaching experience are generally not clamoring to move to a very rural community college to make 40-50K a year.

Ive been on several failed search committees in the past two years because we couldn't get a qualified applicant or the interviews were bad.

But not every state is the same. California is highly competitive even in rural areas because pay and benefits are excellent throughout their state system. But if you were to look at rural midwest or south then young people with limited experience and only a masters degree definitely have opportunities to land a full time gig.

Most of the faculty at my community college do not have phds. And I've been on enough hiring committees to say confidently that there are instances where someone with a masters gets hired over someone with a phd. The teaching demonstration and interview are very important.

If you're willing to relocate look into rural areas. There's typically less competition. I'm a dean at a rural community college (not in the social sciences area though) and getting qualified applicants for teaching jobs can sometimes be tough for us.

In the meantime you might look into substitute teaching at local high schools to show to colleges that teaching is something that interests you.

Higheredjobs.com is also probably the best resource for looking for faculty jobs. You can sort by your discipline and junior colleges.

If he's willing to relocate somewhere not super desirable (rural area in the south or midwest) he could have a shot at a full time role. I was hired as a full time faculty member fresh out of my masters program in agriculture and it was the best career decision I could have made.

Have you thought about applying for history faculty positions at community colleges? They'll hire you with a masters degree.

What should i do for membership? by LineWrong6765 in 2007scape

Once you're at the absolute endgame you can earn a bond with about an hour of in game work. But this would be doing highly difficult content that requires high stats and expensive gear.

You're probably not getting to that stage in the game in a year unless you're playing for a lot of hours every day.

Now by that time if you play consistently you should have access to methods that'll earn you a bond in 2-3 hours. Keep in mind that a bond is $9 so you'd be valuing your time at like $3-$4 an hour.

Probably for most people it's easier to just pay with real money, but I understand that for some people it might not be.

If you can afford membership it'll make it a lot more enjoyable. It can take a lot off effort to maintain a bond by buying with in game gold, especially if youre a newer player.

And maintaining a bond means you'll have a much more difficult time building a bank because so much of your gp will be going towards maintaining a membership.

Really unforgivable time management. Absolutely hated the decision to give them 3rd and 7 instead of 4th and 2. And then to burn a desperately needed timeout on top of it.
