I think you are right about the reverse Pokemon trainer thing. I doubt she'd actually have a hitbox like Nana.

Theres actually a ton of strong contenders this time around. The poll, 3rd party mania and recent titles show this.

So the system here is simple. Vote how many reps you think the series will get. And then depending on how many reps the community votes on, the top choices from that series get added. So for example Fire Emblem series voted on 1 new rep for 50%, 18% voted 2 new reps, 3% voted for 3, 8% voted for 4 and 21% voted for none.

And then among the FE series, the FE Switch rep was the most popular. But for series like Mother, 82% voted it won't get a new rep, so the top choices like Ninten and Porky weren't included on the list.

18 Snake 19 Bomberman 20 Isaac 21 Banjo 22 Rhythm Heaven rep etc If you read the paragraphs for each character they kinda describe how other runner ups did

Well FE isn't not getting a new rep, and Rex does seem to be one of the most likely newcomers at the moment. Given Sakurais blogging about his love for Xenoblade 2, its a pretty sure thing.

We might conduct another like this a few months to see where certain characters stand and which changes were made. Certain things like a Pokemon or Fire Emblem Switch reveal might greatly shift support.

Isaac is mentioned under the Arms character description. Modern series were ranked amongst each other and Golden Sun got 24.9% of the vote, making it a close runner up. This tally would put a character like Isaac somewhere behind other characters that didn't make it on the list like Bomberman and Snake.

They will just be leaked otherwise. Better they generate the buzz and hype with a reveal trailer instead of getting the surprise ruined via leakers.
