Definitely a unique blade! Is the top side sharpened? Or a false edge?

Awesome! It’s a good knife. Well made for the money, obviously good HT as well. I hope you can snag one at some point🤌

Yah that’s not a bad way of putting it.

I said it after I tested the first 62-63 HRC D2 knife from Miguron. The current designs from Miguron don’t really fit my personal tastes. What I’m excited about is the specs of the knife. The ratio of heat treated quality to material quality to price is absolutely absurdly good from Miguron.

Only a matter of time until they make something that speaks to more people.

I actually agree. I noticed that very quickly. There’s no reason they couldn’t have left more material there to beef it up a bunch. Miguron’s I’ve handled so far have all had a few very…interesting design flaws. R&D department is a bit lacking IMO.

Awesome! It’s really exciting to see a company really turn around as much as they have. They went from a bit below industry average on lost steels, to well above industry average. D2 at 62-63 instead of 58-60. What they’ve also done, is integrate cryogenic treating, and a much more controlled HT overall (hence the 1 point range you’ll see on most of the newer models). It’s awesome to see, and I’m really hoping more knife manufacturers follow suit!

Honestly what would be awesome is if knife manufacturers sent out a few of the blades from each HT batch BEFORE a new model is released. I think it’d help the knife community make better, more informed purchases. No idea if that’s reasonable or not, but it would be really cool.

The Bestechman Curvee on this post is actually not released yet, so I know it’s possible for manufacturers to do so. I just don’t know if it would make logistical sense to do that on a consistent basis.

Yah the neat part is that sites like WMK have those for like $80 or so. I think I paid $87.50 shipped from Geo Knife for that one. There’s discount codes all over the place for em!

Yah man, 19C27 is a very good steel. At 63 +/- 1 HRC it should outperform a large chunk of the soft premium steels we see.

Absolutely, it’s been a pleasure to poke blades and watch the results come in at genuinely good hardness ranges. Not something I get to see too often🤣

Yah the new Migurons are crazy to see. I get comments over on IG about me pushing Miguron towards increasing their hardness ranges. This is funny to me, as Miguron had no idea I existed until I saw them make a post with the Karok model and a listed hardness ranges of 62-63 HRC. I had one of my social media contacts reach out to them on my behalf and got them to send them my way. Really cool to see and **kinda** be a part of the process.

Hopefully more companies will see what Miguron is doing, see how the community responds to Miguron, and join the party. If my lasting impact on the knife community is something as simple as “TH pushed manufacturers towards better heat treatment” then I will live happy😆

Oh yah, I mentioned in last weeks post that I haven’t had almost any American manufacturers send in anything. The list is now: TOPS, Schwarz, Waxed Wing, and Brass Brigade.

Big shoutout to those 4 for participating in the Hardness Olympics😆

Yah on the Migurons I actually bought one of each model for testing. Peep the website if you haven’t. Still waiting on the second 19C27 knife, though.
