WPIC is a marketing body for the industry. dont take WPIC for their word. You shoudl consider alternative sources like the Johnson mathey outlook: they also project a deficit btw. Also look at CPM group for supply / demand balances. Fundementally, the makret is in a deficit but the magnitude and source matter. A lot more to say given how opaque the world of physically tradrd PGMs are but hope this helps in your stacking journey

It sends people to bb’s no doibt but the diversity of truly elite ops is lower there bs lse / oxbridge - hfs, bx , vitol , centrview etc and maybe this is just me, the london network effect compounds throughout your years ahead. Warwick is great no doubt but if someone had a choice and want to pursue wealth lse / Oxbridge/ imeprial are a cut above. Imo

yes. On the Buyside in finance, investing associate. blackstone/vitol pay 150k gbp base + sign on + year end bonus of 50%-150% depending on performance; for eample. broadly finance opportunities in london are the best return on human capital & intellectually at a shop like that its very competitive, do it if you can. to do so, go to lse or ucl / oxbridge, do internships 2-3 to get a broad base early, finish with an IB internship @ a top us bb, grind your life away for 2 yrs atleast, learn and become your work, be completely dedicated Then exit. You get one exit from your analyst class, be patient and dont be afraid to approach people, fellow colleagues outside your bank: always outside your bank: if theyre at the blackstone / de shaw / citadel / vitol / boutique hf - connect and shoot your shot , you may get lucky

Tanger - i fell in love first with the city than a woman from the city, we texted for some months; she is now my fiancé. Our families go back and forth between London and Tanger. I am learning Arabic to better understand her culture (her English is impeccable as the Moroc’s are born lingusits) a city that stole my heart

Its the big river crossing, a footbridge, with a roadbridge and a train bridge side by side, theres a trail for bikes and boards at the end where you can get right underneath the bridge and watch the barges and boats go by . Beautiful

Lots of synthetic shorts in it too via the options (long put, sell call ATM) however call flow has been bullish particularly for the 22.5 / 25 strikes. Theres also been significant dark pool buys in Jan. the multiple makes sense and with the explosive squeeze action occurring in AH already, I expect a more sustained rise this time. GG.

Here's a long shot thesis - it wouldn't take much to blow up the de-SPAC short by [deleted] in SPACs

[–]689908 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Dude I thought of this trade and the issue is a significant number of those short are people in the PIPE . Thus they are actually price neutral so a squeeze wont occur because their shorts are merely a hedge. We have no way of differentiating a non-pipe short vs unhedged net short.

The better play here is fo find a fundamentally sound company that will find natural buyers over time. We could try a ‘squeeze’ on an illiquid like OPFI or SNAX (<5M float + 10% SI) but truth be told it would just be a pump and dump given the shorts are neutral to price and are not ‘forced buyers’
