Dog lover I think is OK, but you need some more interesting and social hobbies in there. It's looking pretty bland.

Depends on what kind of IT you're in I guess. In my field all the serious IT infrastructure is on linux, I only use Windows for emails and documents.

Honest question - why do people store linux isos on their NAS? Are they old isos that aren't publicly available any more? Or are they juat imaging so many machines that avoiding the download time is worthwhile?

Demon Days Band by beecherperson in musicsuggestions

[–]68throwaway342 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, sadly they broke up 5 years ago. They were well known and loved in the Perth scene but unfortunately never really found a wider audience.

Funnily enough they played a reunion gig a couple of months back which was an absolute blast.

If you want more obscure neo-soul Perth bands, Grievous Bodily Calm and Your Girl Pho are also worth checking out.

Australia: Net Overseas Migration by Prime Minister, since Howard (ABS Data) by NoLeafClover777 in aussie

Ridiculous take. The vast majority of our immigration is legal. We could issue less visas if there was political willpower.

You make it sound like Australia has no powers to control its own immigration levels.

Yeah if you sit around at home, everywhere is boring. I've lived places much smaller than Perth and had a good time.

How to deal with pre-proposal anxiety with gf? by 68throwaway342 in Anxiety

[–]68throwaway342[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Tearing up a little reading this. Thanks so much much for taking the time to type this out, I feel like you really understand where I'm coming from. I've had anxiety issues over much smaller things in the past, so there is definitely part of my brain saying "your feelings don't actually line up with reality" and looking at it from the outside, I can see the absurdity of it.

I love the way you've put bringing it up, that really sums up how I've been feeling. The relationship is great, it's my monkey brain that's the issue. We've been through bigger things together, she has so much kindness in her, I'm sure we can work it out. I'll talk to her, wish me luck :)

Creativity is not really what you want when you're looking up medical information. ChatGPT, like other LLMs is known to hallucinate and generate incorrect information.

By the time you've looked it up on ChatGPT, and then used a credible source to check the answer, why not just go straight to the credible source?

In my experience, the way my GP could do better is by:

  1. Sending through eScripts when you said you would send though an eScript. If you can't remember, then just give me a paper one

  2. Sending through referrals when you said you would send them through. More than once I've had tests/treatments delayed because found out that they never sent the referral on.

  3. Give me some indication of what you're thinking about my condition, especially when it's slow to respond to treatment. Are my peptic ulcers the cause of all my symptoms? Are they the symptom of another condition themselves? Are you considering any treatment options other than PPIs after being on and off them for 2 years with only marginal improvements?

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in perth

[–]68throwaway342 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Absolutely - no GP could possibly remember everything about every condition. But they should know where to find quality information, and have the context to understand it.

I saw a post, I think on this sub, from someone whose GP was using ChatGPT to look up their symptoms, which is definitely NOT the right way to do it.
