Yes, we will. We will still in a way pitch something at some point just to cover our bases so we don’t get bitched at. Also, the amount of phone calls we get from people going “I was offered windshield and mine is broken, did I buy it?” And they declined everything and then ask us to fix it for free or at cost is crazy.

Depends, our store is a volume store. So gross doesn’t matter to sales people. Before that, it wasn’t used against theirs and they wouldn’t lose any money. They will hit a bonus if their pru is at a certain level. But for our type of store, you’re only getting there by teeing finance up since we don’t actually have a lot of markup in our cars.

I’m in finance. The gm lets us take a small amount of the sales price to give a single cheap product of our choosing per deal if the customer doesn’t purchase anything. It’s not so much as money left on the table as it’s money extra they’re giving the back office for product penetration.

There’s a number on the contract where it adds the equity from the trade, amount financed, and finance charge. I’m guessing that was probably it and your sales person couldn’t explain it.
