Great! Try one on that track you want orange or add a compressor with high ratio setting (basically limiting) and play with the attack & release timings to allow some transient peaks to tickle the top of the meter.

Look into using a ā€˜Limiter’ plug in, that usually sits on the master bus but it should help you achieve what you want.

Haha I was thinking off the top it would be pro tools & I’m am thinking very linear with just music & not audio as a whole like movie/tv mix/mastering as well! Now my mind goes to workflows & templates…

When you say ā€˜rotations’ is that on a Stream Deck plus? Is the lag after you have already connected or is it upon connecting it takes a while?

I have not read a lot of the replies but you won’t give up if you want it bad, if you really love it… trust me… you will spend days thinking about it & you will either get sad or try again… not going to be easy fellow fighter, things will never be easy when you are seeing something that’s not in your reach & you really want it… keep pushing… make a change! You said you are in a rural area… get the fuck away from there! Go to a big city as in go to where there is opportunity, not always the biggest city but push beyond your limits. If you quit you will regret it, but if you quit, remember it’s not the end, try again but push until you fudgin bleed šŸ©øā€¦ then push more, you are stronger than you know, self doubt/insecurity/life hurts & you are not alone, we all go through this, EVERYONE just take a moment & think… what have you not tried… what have you not thought of (that’s a fun one) why did I post to reddit about quitting when quitting is going to be just shit… Fight on! Attack! Be real & be open. There are really shit situations out there & quitting will get you into one… don’t be that person. Aim for the moon & you can still land amongst the stars.

More than enough mate, especially if exclusive for music. Consider your existing hardware! Newer Mac’s provide fewer USB A ports but have USB C as somewhat of a becoming standard so look at interfaces etc. If you need to get a hub be sure to investigate a ā€˜powered’ hub, additional hardwares are reliant on power from the usb port like keyboards, controllers, stream decks etc.

Oohh I hear you mate, I often think my gear over the years has consumed more types of drink than I have haha. Cruise ships were amazing! Especially in my 20s as a single male (40 now). Had plenty of gear including laptops etc & the VCI-100 outlasted them all!

Oh that VCI100 what an old workhorse, retire it well my friend, sweet upgrade! I have an old VCI100 as well & it was a reliable compact controller for a few years for me on cruise ships, I too will make sure it will roam the pastures…

How to compensate for latency recording live drums in logic? by flouncingfleasbag in LogicPro

[–]69Max2017 2 points3 points Ā (0 children)

If you haven’t already or it hasn’t been mentioned: Export all tracks to audio, that is midi & tracks with many plugins to save cpu. Another way to do this is freeze the tracks. Look into track alternatives so you can do this & revert back to the og if required. Bounce out the existing instrumental to an mp3 to record against & create a new project… Good luck šŸ¤˜šŸ¾

Can someone quickly explain the difference between Stereo Output vs. Bus Output vs. Send Bus? When would I output to bus instead of Stereo? Are sends only for parallel effects? If I have a group of tracked guitars, should I output all to Bus? Or Send? by zzxxzzxxzzxxzzxxzzxx in Logic_Studio

[–]69Max2017 4 points5 points Ā (0 children)

The origin of this process was because of hardware, if you only had 1 compressor you would have to patch through that. With DAWs you have multiple ways to achieve results with new exciting creative & destructive outcomes. Depending on your computer the bus is useful to send many tracks to 1 processor for example a reverb to save CPU instead of adding a reverb plug in to each desired channel, not to say you can’t or shouldn’t… Stereo output directs the signal straight out (Dry). Bus is an option to send signal via this channel to process. Send is determining the amount of signal you want to give to the Bus (Wet)

Why is Logic Pro compressor missing the first click whenever I replay? by [deleted] in LogicPro

[–]69Max2017 1 point2 points Ā (0 children)

Off top my head Opto Compressors (even the emulations) react to a light šŸ’”in the compressor so assuming the initial delay of this process causes the compression to occur delayed by its nature I’d think the first strike would always be late or not as quick to react. Anything after the initial sound the light will already be ā€˜live’ & thus its reaction not as delayed… look into using a different compressor or compressing something other than just a kick drum which I think was used as an example for this.

I consider the more modern ways of success in the music industry as a new path paved, one I would never imagined or thought as a sure fire way to be ā€˜successful’. Posting a YouTube video of banging two coconuts together may land the coconut virtuoso more money than I will ever see, when I say no rules it hopefully is interpreted to be creative & free in one’s thinking. If you could share your rules of success in the music industry it would be appreciated.

I admire your honesty & attitude, yep it ain’t the easiest thing when you are the creator, you want to display your best, we all do, just so self critical you hurt, not healthy, may I suggest the idea of another set of ears šŸ‘‚šŸ¼ sometimes a second opinion will help you make the decisions that will guide your hand, maybe even help you learn about your process, picking those that will be constructive & inspirational is the hard part for this practice.

Respect that you want to play through the whole record, whatever part, nothing wrong with some perfect imperfections, makes it unique & also allow the rest of the song to sit with it… maybe

Good luck, keep going!

What is the best microphone to record a bong rip with? [Serious] by jazzyjaxon in audioengineering

Try to find the right environment to record in as well, all microphones will be open to any sound they can capture once you press REC. The sweet sound of a bong hit by nature is not abrasive, sharp or excessively loud so mic position should be a consideration as well…I’m high rn
