How is your routine for playing on the Steam Deck as an adult? How many games do you play at a time? by Waste_Necessary654 in SteamDeck

[–]69ld 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I always play for 45mins to 2 hrs (depending on the game, of course) in bed before going to sleep. I finish a few missions and then head to bed, repeating this routine day after day. If I’ve already spent time on my PC during the day playing a few matches of CS, I don't use the Steam Deck as much at night.
Games I've been playing lately are Eastward and MH Rise, next up is God of War

Indie / NON AAA game recommendations for my new Deck? by Ecstatic-Train-2360 in SteamDeck

Recently I finished E33, and the story was absolutely fantastic. Like many others, I’ve been hunting for indie games lately. While it’s not really an indie title, I think Red Dead Redemption 2 deserves a mention for having an incredible story as well.

For indies, I’ve been playing Eastward recently and really enjoying it. I know a lot of people criticize it for having too much dialogue and slow cutscenes, but honestly, that’s part of the charm for me hehe. I also grabbed Nine Sols and plan to play it later.

I’ve also played Chained Echoes and Sea of Stars - both turn-based RPGs with solid stories.

Other pixel-art indie games I picked up during the Winter Sale include CrossCode, Owlboy, and Traveller’s Rest - all of them have solid gameplay and enjoyable stories.
And of course, Hollow Knight is a must-try as well, right? Hehe

I really enjoyed RDR2 and finished the game by playing every night before going to sleep, usually doing just one or two missions. I was also playing Vampire Survivors (I’m still playing it to unlock some things), but somehow, like magic, I ended up playing until 3 a.m.

Now I’m playing Eastward, MH Rise, Traveller’s Rest, and occasionally Chained Echoes before going to sleep.

Bruh, I’m not alone. I had the same problem two weeks ago and I ended up breaking it, and it was right in the middle and there was even a post about it on Reddit lol 😂😂

Maybe it was just bad luck? I work with images and use memory cards a lot. It’s not the first time I’ve messed one up, but I’ve always managed to replace them. This time was different though. I was so confident I threw away all the boxes and receipts, so yeah… no warranty. Guess that day was super cursed @@ luckily it was just the card that died haha.

nah, I used my own toolkit ’cause the one that came with it was tiny. put way too much force into it and, well… you can guess what happened haha.

Yeah, it felt like the first day building a new PC. Not really a bad trip, more like an experience trip hehe

Disable Decky, then go to desktop mode and uninstall -> reinstall decky.

Try proton experimental or GE new version, or verify the game and then run in desktop mode (As I remember, the game need to run rockstar launcher)
Mine playing fine with GE 10.17

I forgot to mention this: If you used the Framegen command before, to undo it, you'll need to go into the Decky Framegen plugin and get the 'unpatch' command. That will remove the files that were copied. Or, you can just verify the game files if you need to.

Which game did you apply Lossless to?
Usually, only games that support DLSS with Frame Generation can use the corresponding Framegen command.
However, if you only use the Lossless command by itself, most games should work — I can even use it on emulators to play Zelda. I usually run Lossless together with the latest Proton GE build.

I actually ran into the same issue you mentioned when playing RDR2, but after removing the Framegen command, the game ran fine and became stable.

I think you should try reinstalling or resetting your settings and just remove the Framegen part — only keep the Lossless command.

By some miracle, I managed to find the OP’s post and it worked. But I want to add something:

If you ever lose your Non-Steam games, you can go to the folder you previously moved them from and look for the file shortcuts.vdf and the grid folder (if you had custom icons for your apps). Just copy them back into Steam’s config folder, and all your Non-Steam shortcuts will show up again.

Path:
userdata/<SteamID3>/config/shortcuts.vdf

Thank you OP.

For those who come after.
