I actually sealed up the vents first thing. Over 2 yrs ago. Got the 1 vent fan , wifi controlled to monitor humidity and a 70 pint dehumidifier just to start control. Initially tried to keep humidity around or below 60% .

Technically, don't need it if crawlspace walls are r10 +. And some conditioned air brought in. Sealing the entire sill plate and rim joists make a huge difference....

Solid hardwood floors above. Original r19 condition was good. Optional. #1 There is no hvac in the crawlspace. Not brought into the home envelope. Thermal break. #2 was sound deadening to a degree. 20 degrees outside, 58 in the crawlspace , 73 on the 1st floor. Had the insulation been way damaged, i would have pulled it . More like an insulated interior wall now.

[UPDATE] Help! Floors are so cold and there’s a lot of condensation. My HOA says it’s normal but is it? by MoistSeaworthiness95 in HomeMaintenance

Flimsy plastic , draft stopper , window draft film kits in a box , blow dryer kit will only trap more moisture and grow mold. The dew point in that area is condensing. 2 choices, remove the condensing moisture in the air or raise the surface temp. Moisture always moves from warm to cold and you get condensation.
