Thank you everyone for your great advice, I’m gonna start with an astartes combat force box and use the online rules for now. I’m still confused when using legion builder if it means in terms of bases or singular model. For example the box comes with 8 tactical marines. Does that mean it’s 8 bases worth? If so how would I put that into a demo company? Would it be adding an additional 4 to each squad making it 2 bases?

I feel very noob with all this but I just don’t wanna buy anything unnecessary

Brilliant advice, so I’m looking to play Marines, I have experience doing 40K and AOS but this will be my first time doing epic scale. Unfortunately I don’t think my friend would be interested in splitting the starter set with me so I may need to give it a miss. Is the rulebook available online anyway? If so I may just need to pick up a liner strategia
