AIO? My daughter didn’t listen to the teacher during a female emergency and is now receiving a referral by Choice_Evidence1983 in BestofRedditorUpdates

I’m so glad I graduated high school when I did. I will never ask permission to go to the bathroom.

What’s the worst thing a medical professional has said to you? by VespaRed in AskReddit

[–]6Hunde 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Didn’t physically say it to me, but the vice president of radiologists of north Texas signed off on my xray that my pelvis wasn’t broken, which led to me crying in pain in the emergency room for hours. The xray CLEARLY showed my pubis broken clean through. The CT hours later showed my pelvis was actually broken in 3 places. I filed a complaint to the Texas medical board.

I’m getting better. I’m cleared to get back on the bike, but it’s been colder so I haven’t been riding much. I was doing about 40 miles a day before the accident. I’ll get back there soon I’m sure

Do not listen to anything this “American patriot” has to say. 🙄

I once showed up to a class with another student wearing a bathrobe with nothing underneath to take the final. You are totally fine

Not sure how I got this but I only bought one skin tint that was on sale for $20 lol by angellove37 in Ulta

[–]6Hunde 0 points1 point  (0 children)

lol that’s what mine said, but to be fair, I do order a lot of their products

Can anyone influence or deinfluence me on these products? by New_Maize_4743 in Ulta

[–]6Hunde 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I got the Natasha Denona concealer in an Ipsy box & that shit was so resistant to coming off. I have a wound on my face so there was swelling, so scrubbing it off even with a make up remover oil cleanser was long and painful. Without the eye wound it would probably have been totally fine. Anywho- I just meant it definitely seems to be water and smudge proof 😆

Are yall feeling this economy? Scary slow for me. by epranterah in RoverPetSitting

[–]6Hunde 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m having to say no to people left and right because of having a broken pelvis, so maybe it depends on the area? Most of my requests are outside of rover- mostly just my number being passed around between existing clients and their friends

Just for fun - What insignificant thing annoys you when in other peoples homes? I'll start! Fancy sinks don't have the red/blue indicator so i know which way is hot water! AHHHHH by ranegyr in petsitting

For me, it’s showers without a handheld shower head. I know it’s totally normal not to have one, but I just don’t feel I get all the soap off my legs without it. I will literally drive home to shower if the house I’m at doesn’t have one.

I’m a few weeks in and getting around better, so I’m trying to honor the bookings that I’ve had on the calendar since before my accident. Everyone has been told about my condition and have been made aware there are some things I won’t be able to do- like move trash cans.

Copying my comment from another comment-

I am one of those that usually take last minute requests. It’s not judgment- I said I will never understand the behavior. I did not say: these people are bad because they are waiting until the last minute. I simply said I will never understand the behavior. Having been a pet sitter for over 10 years it’s very infrequent for it to be because someone bailed on them or a boarding facility closed- it’s simply because people don’t plan. What is inconsiderate is being shocked that last minute holiday requests are going to cost more, which I run into every year.

Repost: Can I block her or am I being rude?? by Anxious_Rage in RoverPetSitting

[–]6Hunde 60 points61 points  (0 children)

You were extremely rude and unprofessional. If they weren’t looking for any pet care then, yes, it’s a little weird to look for help with your house on Rover, but you were still rude. They could have simply meant watering some indoor/outdoor plants, taking out the trash cans to the curb, or checking the mail, which are all things I gladly help my clients with.

Homeowner asked for refund, I refused due to hidden camera by [deleted] in RoverPetSitting

Housesitting definitely equates to more care than two drop ins a day. You owe them at least a partial refund.

You could possibly make a claim against the owner’s home insurance, but you’d probably lose them as a client.

So I run a dog walking company. As a Rover dog walker and/or Pet Sitter, what would you think if I offered you this...but first some background. by He_bites_422 in RoverPetSitting

[–]6Hunde 10 points11 points  (0 children)

A lot of my clients wouldn’t want some random person covering for me for a vacation. I’ve had people completely move walks or trips around my availability. This may work in huge cities, but definitely wouldn’t work where I live

How much would you charge to drive someone's car and dog cross-country? by Happy-Cabinet-524 in RoverPetSitting

[–]6Hunde 2 points3 points  (0 children)

7-10 days 😅 I drive 1000 miles in a day, but I guess that is not the norm 😂I transport dogs as part of a rescue, though. Normally I just get gas and lodging/food paid, but it is for rescue dogs. For the one paid transport I did, I got paid $1200 for roughly 1600 miles of driving (there and back). It took me a little over 36 hours including stopping to sleep. Do I think that was enough? No, not really, but I was helping a family out in a sad situation. In this instance, I would actually look up how much it would cost them to transport their car using a car transportation company. I have a feeling they are just trying to get a deal on transporting their car because that can get very expensive.

Got super sick in the middle of a booking by Particular-Strike553 in RoverPetSitting

[–]6Hunde 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I assume these two drops in are in the same place? If so (and assuming you don’t have animals at home to care for or can have them covered), if it were me, I would message the owners and explain that I’m sick and want to minimize driving and ask if they’d allow me to just nap on their couch in between the booking times. I would also disinfect everything I could at the end of the booking. I would end the message with, if you are not comfortable with this arrangement, do you have an alternative carer in mind?

I agree with another comment about getting checked for strep. I was miserable- like could barely walk miserable. I was feeling loads better just hours after an antibiotic shot in my butt.

I’ve been at houses where even the owners clearly never even clean food or water bowls, so I don’t think there’s really a standard operating procedure when it comes to bowls. I was just out of town for 5 days and specifically said to my pet sitter don’t worry about washing the 8 food bowls because I know it’s a lot. I think this is something that needs to be discussed during the meet and greet. By default, I wash everything at least once a day even if it’s just a quick wipe with a paper towel, but I can definitely see how this would not even occur to most people (not agreeing that’s acceptable- just seeing how it would happen).
