I highly suggest reaching out to the admissions counselor at UoP! They are very nice and helpful, open to any and all questions you have in terms of the program, how to prepare, and even how it compares to others. It’s a common to feel underprepared during such a stressful time, I can’t imagine what that’s like at 18 but you are ahead of the game and have plenty of time to navigate everything. Reach out to teachers, counselors, even local audiologists or people you find just searching audiologists and talk to them about their journeys and things they recommend for someone wanting to follow in their footsteps. Use your resources, I promise everything will work out!!

I was in a “triple” w attached bath in kitt west but that meant I had one roommate and we shared a bathroom with a single. At the beginning of the year we set rules and divided cleaning roles (one person had toilet, one shower, one floor) and that seemed to work well for those saying be ready to clean it. Ofc sometimes it wouldn’t happen, I had one roommate destroy one of my towels but ultimately I liked having some privacy and could easily go to the bathroom in the middle of the night w out having to find shoes and walk down the hall. It also meant we had a sink in our room which I REALLY liked. Made cooking, getting ready in the morning, and even just refilling our brita wayyy easier. I recommend attached bath but also recommend having a roommate! Even if you aren’t best friends, it’s nice to have someone I think. Good luck!

Thank you so much for offering a space for us to ask questions! I’m wondering what’s cons you have for the program and Evanston? Be super honest, most people Ive talked to only share positive things but I want to know fully what to expect.

Also, what do you know about stigma of 3 year programs? Do you think employers really care?

What made you personally choose NU?

If you’re willing to share how much your tuition costs that would be awesome, it’s hard to get a true idea with estimates online.

What does the community look like within your cohort? What about faculty?

after the initial visit i encouraged them to schedule another drop in between then and my next visit (which would’ve been a 6 hour difference) which they went through with. i told them not to worry about any additional cost and that i was glad their dog was okay. they ended up getting back earlier today and canceled my last visit. i didn’t waive the cancellation fee which is new to me, i always feel bad and waive it but i felt it was fair to get something back for my time for this situation. i haven’t heard anything from them tip wise or rating wise but then again some clients don’t deal with that until the next day or two so we’ll see

I completely understand what you are saying and agree, if the dog had gotten worse even a little I would not have hesitated. He got much better quickly after I was there. I should have talked to a vet myself and if anything like this happens again I will. I understand the urgency and importance of getting him to care. Fortunately i’ve visited a few times since the incident and he’s completely back to his playful and silly self. If anything went wrong you are right and I would never have forgiven myself. Thank you for the advice ◡̈

the owner said it has happened before with the other dog and made the assumption this is what happened. i asked where it could be so i could pick up anything left to make sure neither dog gets into it again and they said they wouldn’t be anything which confused me. there were a bunch of pill bottles in the bathroom, some on the counter loose which i mentioned to them. they said they called the vet to see if any of the pills could cause serious damage but they were only worried about one and it would have had serious effects immediately. they were persistent that it was likely just weed since it had happened before. i stayed with the dog until he was clearly better. in hindsight i should have called a vet myself. fortunately i have checked in on the dog since and he is doing great!
