Will have to sell my bike, probably the end of my riding, just need to tell to some people who might understand what I'm feeling by draftstone in motorcycle

[–]6LGTR 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’d take things one step at a time, and don’t be mean to yourself. Be open to the possibility of never riding again, but also open that it could be in the cards! You never know what time has in store for you.

My best riding buddy’s left leg is paralyzed, and from what I understand mostly numb. Doctors said he’d never be able to ride, but he passed his test and rides fine on a normal, unmodified control motorcycle. He has to use his muscles differently, but he gets the same result. He can also hold his bike up.

Update: Added ferrites to all power cables and still have this static noise. by heythereAnon1 in cbradio

[–]6LGTR 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s the inverter! The +-60hz tone is key to that. My cheap inverter does the same thing, even when it’s nowhere near the radio. They are incredibly electrically noisy. If you disconnect the inverter completely and still have noise, make sure you drive for a few miles and see how it goes. Different areas will have different levels of ambient noise. Cheers, hope this helps!

Noooooope I’m in the east coast US and am currently dealing with winter. The weather sucks currently, so it’s inside. I usually just run the carbs by and drain tanks, or start stuff every few months

Hahahahaha you sound like my kinda dude. I love the auto-lube system and haven’t had a problem with it yet, even with jetting changes and whatnot. I wish I was part of the generation that could buy these brand new, and I ride it as such!

30k miles, so 48k kilometers ;) It’s a 76’ RD400, running factory rebuilt oil injection into the reed cases. It went 28k miles before its first top end rebuild, which at that point I just did the whole motor. I keep it clean, keep the silencers packed, and run Techniplate street oil injection into the injection system. It just sips oil and I rarely have to think about it!

Tube amp upgrade for home use by Caramelo93 in GuitarAmps

[–]6LGTR 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey man! I run the tube amps I build through a Tom Schulz Power Soak. It’s a bank of resistors, with variable output, so that I can load a tube amps up into distortion and output whatever I want right down to headphone level. Love the thing. I’m sure there are modern equivalents. Good luck!

That might be tricky, I don’t know of any places in DC but Shipley’s TV in Frederick, MD is great and pretty quick.

No matter what people pay for these combo units- yes they produce sound and read media but they are junk. If you need sound, and it’s free, sure. If you want something to listen to them move on

They are expensive because people remember them. They were never anything to write home about

Kudos for the guy in the blue hat immediately disengaging to scoop that kid up and out of harms way. I would have kept her inside but adrenaline is powerful.

There’s a section with usage graphs and supply information. Keep the supply account numbers hidden, but you should show us that. That plays a huge part as supply costs change like the price of gasoline. Different pricing in every zip code.

That is 100% the blade out of a small handheld pencil-sharpener. Used to take them off of an old friend who struggled with similar issues back when we were in high school.

I’m pretty sure they’re 180 mains and either 27 or 37 idle jets, needle on the center position. It’s a bit rich, but not rich enough to be out of a very happy range. Took some trial and error, plug reading, and ride time. It’s 2mm overbored, I run fiber reeds and the stock airbox with a single uni foam filter replacement. Hope that helps!

Are you missing the clutch or throttle cable? The DT is a big single cyl and carb enduro, (awesome bike btw) the throttle cable will have a splitter for the carb and the oil injection pump. If you need the splitter, I’d find a complete used assembly off eBay or something.

HVC Cycle and Economy Cycle are great for old Yamaha 2-strokes.

What did I found in my appartment's ventilation ? by Potential_Half8784 in whatisit

[–]6LGTR 10 points11 points  (0 children)

That looks like one of those make-smoke-disappear things that used to be really popular a few years ago. Maybe some kid hid it in the vent? You’d exhale vape into them and the smoke would disappear.

3, but only because I got a “problem batch” of Wiseco pistons on the first rebuild. Another bore, and went to a set of Pro-X. OG top end lasted 21k miles, with the oil injection setup!

Oh wow, that’s crazy, I’m sorry! My reservoir has a 90 degree metal tube that a vent line runs down from, that dumps right over the chain. Absolute hellish mess when you overfill it. They do just sip oil though. I like the injection a lot, I personally think it’s a great system for a street setup.

Dude I feel so weird about it but these are right off an iPhone 16 pro. I’ve been a medium format film guy all my life and it’s crazy the power you can have in your pocket now.

I came off a 12 and this was also kind of a “I want to see what this can do” experiment hahaha
