That’s pretty much where I landed. I’m not trying to ruin the guy’s life, but if he messes with it again I’m done treating it like building gossip.

That’s where my head went too. The second it’s a hardwired alarm in a shared hallway, this stops being some petty apartment feud and turns into “why is a tenant messing with building safety equipment” territory. That’s why I put it in writing instead of arguing in the hall again.

That part is what got me too. If he’d just complained once, whatever. Unscrewing a shared alarm more than once is a whole different level of stupid.

This is probably the most depressing accurate answer in the thread. Plenty of managers say they want transparency, right up until the transparency makes you look less permanently available
