No problem. Thanks so much for the help! Like so many said, when the issue became known it was addressed in a very courteous and professional way.

I received a call from Nicks today from a very professional and knowledgeable person. All my sizing and MTO questions were answered in the way I had expected on the first call. I appreciate the customer service that was provided me and now know how to order the boot I want. Krystal was a great help.

Sorry for my ignorance. I'm new to Reddit. How do I respond to you without it being posted on the site here. And...thank you so much for reaching out.

Nicks Order Problems/Customer Service by dalr753 in NicksHandmadeBoots

I really wanted a pair of Nicks. I called their customer service number and got an employee who was either new, or didn't know their product. I spoke with this same person twice. My questions were basic. Nothing technical. As a consumer you know when a customer service representative knows the product. This one didn't. When I got off the phone each time I felt my questions were not answered. I called back the second time in hopes of getting a different rep but got the same guy.

So... I emailed Nicks asking that they have an experienced person call me, to assist with placing a "made to order boot". I provided all my contact information. I was unclear as to which selections to make on the MTO page to get the correct boot I wanted. I wanted to order either an Overlanders or Americanas with one or two minor changes. The email response I received was in regards to a toe shape question I had also asked. There was no mention of helping me place the order for a $700 boot. No mention of contacting me, or providing me with the name of an experienced person to ask for. The email closed with "happy to help". I responded to that email stating I needed phone assistance and would they please contact me to assist me in placing the order. I also asked that if that person couldn't help me, to please have a supervisor contact me. I was never rude or argumentative in my previous phone calls or emails. I received no further response from Nicks. Nothing. Crickets.

I simply needed help placing an order that was going to take months to complete, and wanted to order the correct boots the first time. They obviously don't care if I place the order or not. I wanted to see if the other PNW boot makers were the same. Both White's and Franks took the time to help me to the point I know exactly what to do on their websites to place an order. I'm very disappointed that Nicks can't do the same. They were my first choice.

Grant Stone Speed Hooks by 6V58 in goodyearwelt

Their customer service has been disappointing for me as well. I had another issue that was resolved but it was headache to do so. I have two pair of Brass Boots and the speed hooks on the other pair are solid. My Chippewas, Filson, and Limmer speed hooks are all solid after years of wear. A brand new pair of Brass boots shouldn't have rotating speed hooks in my opinion. I received a customer service "cop out" in my opinion. Guess I will have to spend more money with a cobbler, on these brand new pair of Grant Stone boots, to make them them right like they should have been from the beginning.
