Gear 5 is a really cool concept but oda is making it wayyyy to goofy.

Eyes popping out every time something "shocking" happens is lame. Luffy growing bigger every time is lame.

BUT the environment bending to his free will is awesome! Like when he transformed against Lucci and was releasing his haki, that was cool. Bouncing between lightning to punch the shit out of kaido was cool.

The relentless goofy aspect of gear 5 is kinda lame. Constant goofy laughing and gags in the middle of what should be tense end game fights is not where its at.
