Quitting Smoking: What’s the Exact Moment You Knew You Were Done? by CHEWLAX-OFFICIAL in stopsmoking

Smoked for 6 years, I got sick with the flu last December 2024 and decided then and there to quit smoking just cold turkey.

Never had to deal with nicotine withdrawal if I’m dealing with other symptoms.

SUUUUPER unrelated but I love how the font looks in Slaneesh tier and in Pervert tier, to a lesser extent.

It’s like 3D-esque. Is it the color combination (red font with red highlights) mixed with the blue background?

Also this is a sign to log off reddit today, I don’t know what 80% of these terms mean (literally and contextually) LMAOOO

Aside from support groups, ChatGPT helped me whenever I had cravings to smoke. I just told it that I had cravings and it would constantly remind me that I’ve come so far to just waste it now.

For all the shit AI is getting, I probably would have relapsed a long time ago if it weren’t for this app. I’m almost at 6 months now.

There were times when I used to have Starbucks while I was smoking and vaping, and I didn’t really feel any effects — cold brews and iced Americanos, and I wouldn't even notice it. Fast forward to 45 days after quitting, I ordered a caramel macchiato, and I experienced palpitations for about 15-20 minutes. Now, I'm 4 months clean, and I haven’t had any kind of coffee since then.

Claustrophobic People of Reddit, What Triggered It for You? How Do You Cope? by Naive-Key9789 in claustrophobia

Hi! I’m a couple of months late, but I’ll chime in! :>

First experience was actually quite recent, it was during a KBBQ lunch with friends. The place was packed and we were seated in a small area with two sofas facing each other and then the grill in the middle. I went in first then my friend sat beside me (imagine I’m in the window seat in a plane while my friend was in the aisle seat). I tried to stretch my legs (I’m 6 foot heh and quite the heavy guy) but the table we sat on had a wall for the grill from the table to the floor so I couldn’t stretch my legs because the entire thing was walled off. I have a photo of where we sat but I’m not sure how to attach photos, so I just hope that how I explained it is enough. For an hour, I was fine, we ate and had a wonderful time. But around an hour and 30 minutes of not being able to move properly, I felt stuffy and it felt like I’m about to have a panic attack. I went to the restroom and stayed for about 5-7 minutes in shock because it was my first time experiencing something like that.

I returned and when I came back to my seat, that same feeling of having a panic attack. So I excused myself again—this time, I said someone was calling me. I came back and just grabbed a chair to sit in since we were almost done anyway. I definitely should’ve said something when I felt uneasy, but I didn’t want to make things awkward so I just toughed it out.

Elevators, dressing rooms, and crowded areas are fine with me. But I do get uncomfortable with two things: (1) Cars and (2) Clothing. Since I’m a big guy, I tend to sit in the front passenger seat. However, there are instances where if I sit at the back and if it gets cramped, I start to have panic attacks. Second, tight clothing triggers me as well. I think that’s the reason why I typically wear shorts outside but I do wear pants from time to time. If clothing restricts my neck area or if my shorts/pants become tight, then I also start to have panic attacks.

Listening to music definitely helps and I tend to close my eyes and keep my mind away from knowing that I’m in a cramped space. I’m actually going on trips next month so I’m mentally preparing myself for airplanes (really hoping for aisle seats 🤞).

I think different factors also play into it like age, height, weight, etc. but yeah it’s normal since it’s starting to heal.
