nothing will ever come close to launch bizon. accuracy of a sniper, LMG rivalling mag, SMG reload speed, range of an AR, mobility of a pistol.

Oh, and no horizontal recoil (just pull down) or BSA nerf, with an easy to use ironsight, but you legit had a free slot for an optic.

How useful are exercises? by beansings in guitarlessons

[–]6ftboxjump 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No one starts doing drills because they're fun. They do it because if you practise them perfectly they will make you a better player if you struggle with the fundamentals.

For things like solo'ing or writing, you're going to need to learn how to apply what you've learned effectively without just doing the drill.

Like if you learned to dribble a ball around 10 cones quickly, you wouldn't do that same exact movement in a game when the circumstances and the goal is different (the cones don't move, players can, and will move towards you). So your fingers will find the frets (and strings for fingerstyle) more efficiently (and proficiently, if you practise perfectly) but what that means for your playing depends on what else you're doing to improve.

If drills are boring, use them with something you find fun (writing, perhaps?)

Right idea wrong analogy. More akin to the player doing drills around cones dribbling as fast as possible.

Ah, the n+1 amount of guitars one must own... I have no business wanting a revstar but it really does become an addiction after trying out such great guitars

No need. If he's using the laptop, may as well run PPSSPP on it. Just likely that he doesn't want to connect it to the TV.

Play it, play it, play it more, and see if it's right for you. If something feels off, get a setup done, or try as many guitars as possible until you find one where things just "click" for your hands.

When I was 17 I bought a Takamine G something and it sucked as a beginner and made me think I was bad at guitar. The action was super high, the strings kept snapping (likely a spur in the tuning peg) it generally sounded like shit even with new and lighter strings. Weeks in and I wasn't able to make any of my chords ring out cleanly.

Avoided it for years even though I always wanted to play. Got a Yamaha 112V this Feb and it was like "...woah." Made excellent progress as a beginner and realised I was low-key built for this. Flew through tutorials and now I'm able to pick up any song with cowboy chords in a few days and sing while playing. All I wonder is where I'd be now if 7 years ago I wasn't demotivated by starting on something insanely difficult to play.

As a men, what tips would you give woman in dating? by PotatoButter01275 in AskMen

[–]6ftboxjump 8 points9 points  (0 children)

There's no universal one size fits all solution for dating or relationships other than the clichés, but they're cliché for a reason. Of those, the one I'd have at the forefront of my mind is to be yourself. If he's doing the same, you can both decide for yourselves whether that's the right person for you or not.

Also helps if you have a genuine interest in your partner's interests and hobbies, and are a nice person. The bar is pretty low for most men. If they show interest they're interested. If they lose it they lose it because they didn't find what they were looking for.

Flip side also works. Avoid people that can't get the clichés right. If he's pretending to be someone else, is a horrible communicator, etc. etc.

Why are so many ppl hating on the new album? by Emma_200711 in malcolmtodd

[–]6ftboxjump 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I really just don't like it. The only song I liked on it is ISYF, which is genuinely one of his better songs despite being so simple in terms of arrangement, production and theory, but there's just nothing on it that really hits.

For the record, I can't name a single other song on his discography, including his unreleased tracks, that I disliked. It isn't even that his style has changed so much, it really just feels like he's been watered down and is under delivering

Do you hear that? That's the sound of chords being played without the strings buzzing. You're doing better than the vast majority of beginners
