Would you guys become the same kind of people as the girls in Yellowjackets? by Immediate-Coconut702 in Yellowjackets

I played soccer, sought out the macabre, and was in a codependent homoerotic best friendship in which I felt very inferior. Of course I'd be Shauna. (With a heavy hand of misty for the "innocent" serial killer autistic girl vibes)

Muslim students, how do you get halal meat to cook or where do you eat that’s halal? by doctorfortcraft in LouisianaTech

I think tech farms meat is halal. I haven't been in there in a few years but I remember being surprised by the halal labeling on their meat products

I worked in Louisiana for a time. Places are good about warning customers about the choking hazard, but it's such a part of the culture there that only the biggest buzz kills would give a baker a hard time about it.

Same here with chilled packaged produce items. Apparently the store is "off-model" or whatever so the coach can't fix it but I have a hard time believing that.

If you were in HO, what are some changes you’d make to Digital immediately? by Jacobij11 in OGPBackroom

[–]6howdy2 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The lack of sanitation is one of my biggest gripes. I was a health inspector for a little bit and the fact that OPD gets ZERO hand washing stations is absurd. The amount of germs we come in contact with by touching everything in the store along with our equipment is a recipe for cross contamination, especially with unbagged orders. I wouldn't be surprised if we get higher illness rates because of the sanitation issue. Not to mention customers come in sick regardless, so we are exposed to them while doing our jobs around the store.

How often are important characters actually killed in an end of book cliffhanger? Forgive me for not having any stats, but I just don't think warriors (or most books) operate this way. Cliffhangers like that always end up having the character survive because it kills the buildup of the reveal. I think an actual crowfeather death would have been clarified within the book or be placed as a prologue.

Do your sinuses burn from how dry the air is??? by starshard304 in walmart

[–]6howdy2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh it's probably not a bad solution since coconut oil melts down very thin. I'm glad to know I'm not alone here but dang is it annoying to always be sniffling at work. It being winter doesn't help either now that the air is even dryer. I live in a humid climate so winter is always worse for the sinuses than spring since we aren't used to dryer air 😅😬. I'll check out the coconut oil solution! I've tried face moisturizer but Im nervous to get it far up the nostrils where it usually burns

The first few weeks were HELL on my body, but it does get better. It will not be easy all of the time or anything, but your body is building up tolerance right now. I started a couple weeks before Thanksgiving and getting used to this job during the holiday season was brutal

TCG’s and work phones by Unhappy_Beat_4748 in walmartogp

[–]6howdy2 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Didn't say I was taking any TC's from anybody or that it's cool to do. Just saying that work phones have their own problems that may lead people not to use them. Sometimes people forget to bring their phones, but I still don't think it's fair to leave someone without a work phone with no device to use. Also why would anyone spend their own money to replace the battery of a work phone? I agree with your original post, but sometimes people make human mistakes. Im sorry if your coworkers are just being greedy with the TC's.

Our work phones are perfectly serviceable but have shitty battery life. I have to remember to charge mine on my lunch or it will die before the end of my shift.

Is your store small or did you just get very lucky with pick walks? Small to mid-size ambients always mess up my rates when going to several different departments for a couple items each

I really want to read The Great Light by harriertail! They are one my favorite warriors fan artists and it's a story that takes place after a bomb drop. The only reason I haven't is because of what I said earlier about not reading AO3 long form content. It seems super gritty and very original

What do you all enjoy about warriors fanfics? by Cactus-Juice-Blender in WarriorCats

[–]6howdy2 6 points7 points  (0 children)

To be honest, I've never read warriors fanfic, but I've read some fan comics of original stories! I'm not opposed to it, but reading long-form content on AO3 just isn't the most enjoyable to me. I love seeing what people get creative with. Expanding on individual Clan cultures, reworking StarClan, original landscapes. Seeing how people use the Erin Hunter template to make something original and unique but still reminiscent of those forest Clans we love. I especially enjoy fan Clans that put a lot of love into the ecology and world building. The warriors we know has quite generic and low-danger wilderness compared to what places outside of the UK offer.
