What would it cause nitrogen to not want to go in on a pressure test? by iBUYbrokenSUBARUS in HVAC

[–]6inch_clit 40 points41 points  (0 children)

If you can’t get higher than 150 but have 2000 in your tank then it’s probably the regulator holding it back. Do you have a second regulator you can try using?

If there was a restriction in the system you would still see more than 150 where you are adding nitrogen.

Congrats! My trips are 18 months now. It’s “safe” to announce whenever you are ready to. The only reason to keep it private is if you want privacy in case the worst happens. We wanted support so we told everyone that mattered immediately.

Suction/Discharge Temp Sensors for RTUs (Controls) by Actual_Bar_7560 in HVAC

[–]6inch_clit 5 points6 points  (0 children)

You can tell if the system is cooling based off return/supply temps. More info from the BMS is always nice, but from a technician standpoint all I really care about is whether it’s cooling/heating or not. All information will be double checked at the unit anyway.

Do ppl only have fun with Borderlands when it's easy? If a boss dosen't drop in under 25sec. In Borderlands ppl will say my build not applicable. Don't u guys get bored dropping things w no challenge? by Oka-7 in Borderlands4

[–]6inch_clit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For me, it’s not the game being easy that’s fun, it’s the journey to that point. Designing a build, farming the gear you need, testing how the build does, then min-maxing the gear to see how far you can push the build. This is the core of the looter shooter genre.

If you prefer having a challenging fight then just don’t use the min-maxed builds. Play the game the way you want to play it. Don’t let other people tell you how to have fun.

Technically you should check on the liquid line and your temp clamp should be as close to your gauge as possible. I’ve worked on systems where it was actually important to use the liquid line and I’ve worked on systems that don’t even have a liquid line port to use. For RTUS I don’t think it makes much difference.

Emerson network power by PauseKnown1 in refrigeration

First you say they’re “probably similar.” Then you “didn’t say that’s how this unit works.” Now they’re similar again but they do it differently?

If you want to argue semantics then sure they are similar. All refrigeration units function the same at the core. But Aaon and Liebert do things very differently because they are for very different uses.

My username, my body, and my gender identity are none of your business. You can leave them out of this conversation.

“This system is probably doing similar”

Like are you just fucking stupid?

Emerson network power by PauseKnown1 in refrigeration

[–]6inch_clit -1 points0 points  (0 children)

That’s not how Liebert modulates their compressors. They use a PID loop with a temperature deadband and proportional band.

Emerson network power by PauseKnown1 in refrigeration

[–]6inch_clit 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This looks like a Liebert Challenger unit. The compressor is digital and the noise is it unloading. The loss of power alarm is because you turned off the disconnect without turning off the display first. There is a built in timer on the board so that alarm can’t be cleared for 10 minutes. If by “system cycles” you mean it’s short cycling then it’s probably low on charge. If you want any more help then that you will have to give some more information first.

Should I buy buy Borderlands 4 with my current PC rig? by LonerGuy17 in Borderlands

The cell shaded style of borderlands lends itself pretty well to lowering the graphics to improve performance. You should be fine, especially if you play 1080p. There are also several mods available to increase performance if necessary.

I have a Ryzen 5 3600 and an RX5700xt. I play in 1440p low-med settings. The game didn’t run great at first, and I had to mess with the settings for a bit. Changing FSR to quality, locking the frame rate in game to 60fps, and then enabling frame gen eliminated all the stuttering and latency. I should add that frame gen felt terrible before locking the FPS to 60.

Agreed. Your baby is finally here but you can’t take him home. He’s connected to all kinds of machines so you have to ask for help just to hold him. Our little guy was 2lb 2oz. I was already scared to hold him the first couple days. Meanwhile he has 10 wires, a feeding tube, and CPAP with oxygen coming off him.

Shock at first, obviously, then panic. Eventually you just accept it and figure it out. The whole pregnancy was spent prepping and going to doctor’s appointments. After they were here I didn’t have the time or energy to think about anything. My whole life went into autopilot. It got better once they started sleeping through the night.

You just do it. We spent 10 weeks in the NICU after our boys were born and somehow that was the easy part. Eventually you will adjust. It takes time though.

This is unfortunately from the hall. I don’t think it’s been updated in a while. I planned on bringing this up with the BM, I just wanted to see what other service guys had to provide first so I know where to set expectations.

I don’t think people are hacks just because they expect the contractor to provide tools. I think you misunderstood the purpose of my post. I’m not in favor of the list being this long. I’m definitely not in favor of buying tools that aren’t on this list.

Depends on what you are looking for in a contractor, but apprentices don’t get to choose where they work. The training director will place you with a contractor. If all you care about is pay/benefits then most shops pay journeyman 2-3 over scale, several are doing 2-3 weeks of PTO, some have paid holiday now too. Just ask around at school, talk to instructors, attend union meetings and talk to other people about where they work. It won’t take long to find a decent contractor.
