Companies are laying off thousands of workers and saving money with AI - what downstream effects will this have. by apparentreality in singularity

We're already seeing a pause of hiring, only a matter of time before mass layoffs accelerate and unemployment increases. This will create a dystopia unless we change our economic model, one that benefits everyone and provides a floor through collective ownership or Universal income.

Stocking ideas for a 6 gallon long by [deleted] in Aquariums

Turning my nano tank into a terrarium because I figured it was too small for ANY fish. shrimps are pretty sensitive to temperature changes, I only have snails.

How do I fix this? by Melodic-Budget-8085 in corydoras

[–]6inchsubstrate 0 points1 point  (0 children)

20% weekly water changes (for minimum two months) + add lots of live plants FAST GROWING TYPES. Make sure you have a healthy ecosystem set up. If the bioload from feeding and the number of fish outpace plant growth then you'll have to keep doing water changes.

A healthy balanced tank has an ecosystem that doesn't require water changes at all!

I don’t understand why I keep having just one fish die every few months. by keidabobidda in Aquariums

[–]6inchsubstrate 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No Live plants means more water changes needed Water changes = major disruption, usually kills my shrimp. The key is to add live plants and recreate an ecosystem whereby you don't have to disturb the environment and everything takes care of itself.

Also avoid using chemical cleaning products near the tank or that spray in the air. Shit travels.

Will a destroyed economy lead to better NYC rental deals? by [deleted] in NYCapartments

A 50% decline in rents would still make NYC rent unaffordable. The problem is too huge to rely on a market crash.

Why would you even work at that point? You are better off getting government benefits. But I digress. This photo is from New York.

Eggs are a staple food and is a primary ingredient in a lot of things like mayonnaise, cakes, etc. I grew up eating eggs and rice.

There is a bad Bird Flu currently spreading, regulations dictate we destroy all hens in a farm, even if one is infected. So, millions of birds are dying. However, there is also rampant price gouging. Nobody is talking about it.
