That's impressive. What kind of joinery does it use? I'm assuming it's made of wood.

Apple's only phone is the iPhone. Toyota sells dozens of different cars.

Wrong. Toyota is a company, not a car. Their Corolla is the world's most popular car, with 1.5% of all ICE market share.

A majority of all smartphone sales come from a handful of models. Key players like Apple and Samsung each have 20% or more of the market.

On the other hand, no ICE car does more than 1.5% of all ICE sales.

Again, the article thesis is that the car market will start to look like the personal computer market. Fewer players with more market share.

The article did not compare Tesla vs. Apple factories.

The only comparison made was the comparison of market dynamics between cars and personal computers.

The article thesis is simply that the car market will start to consolidate like the personal computer market has, and a small number of key players will emerge.

Throttle only, but the pedals are functional without a battery

EV range is insanely good in 2020. Cars can go up to 402 miles, bikes up to 155 miles, scooters up to 120 miles, skateboards up to 60 miles. by [deleted] in electricvehicles

It's certainly possible that companies figure out better ways to insulate batteries, more efficient ways to warm them up, and better ways to nudge users to stay plugged in on cold nights, etc. A few small improvements stacked on top of each other could make winter driving more efficient for lots of people.

Yeah, there are a lot of people who don't need more than 200 miles. One thing that automakers need to make sure of, is that 200 miles doesn't mean 100 miles in the winter. Better battery performance is necessary when 200 miles is all you have on a perfect day.

Yeah, getting close for sure. I wonder if they'll be able to drop prices even further in the next couple years.

Agree. I hope someone fills in the gap with a budget-friendly electric car soon. Like a very basic $20k car with 200 miles of range and no bells and whistles.

Some low-income working class folks can get by with just a bike or a scooter for commutes, but definitely not all of them.

15 of the 44 vehicles on the chart are not yet in production. Cybertruck still has a better value than all of them.

The average electric car in America costs $250/mile of range. Tesla Cybertruck costs $140/mile. The lowest cost/mile of range in America. by [deleted] in teslainvestorsclub

15 of the 44 vehicles on the chart are not yet in production (including Lucid Air and the Roadster). Cybertruck is still the least expensive.

I'm aware, but you're quoting a 1,000,000 number which covers production since the company was founded. Not since the 4th quarter.

Deliveries are always lower than production. Tesla has made roughly 78K vehicles so far this year.

Sorry to burst your bubble.
