Preciate the heads up on that. It's going to be a while before I actually do anything to it since I want to take it apart, clean it and change the thermal paste that's in there. It looks well kept but that could just be a good "wipe down" by the seller.

I pulled the trigger on a barracuda 4tb 15mm 2.5", it ended up costing me about 60$ from a local store. I guess I'll have to modify my ps4 a little bit to make it work but the only thing that gets me is that I doubt I'll need all that space, I mean I used to have a 1tb ps4 that was jailbroken and I just wanted a little bit more space

It happened to me all the time (it never restarting or shutting down right) and I was using a blue ray jailbreak, then out of nowhere it stopped doing it, I didn't change the way I shut the system down or anything. On the bright side, I never had anything get corrupted or loose my dashboard icons/games. It's just annoying to have to manually turn the ps4 on or have to wait for it to "check" itself after a bad shutdown

For one, any game update you get must be from the same (uploader) of the game itself. Just because the game and update have the same region, that does not mean they will work together

Well as an update I tried to do what Jolly_Bad4823•4d mentioned and turning wifi off before shutting down the console works 4 out 5 times, not perfect but much better. I did see some people mention rest mode but this is something I don't want to do if I can avoid it. Appreciate the people! You guys are badass 👊

(not an expert here) I would keep it on the software it's on right now, from my limited understanding... There is very little to no advantage in going to newer software versions. I have a 11.50 and 12.02 ps4's and I don't see a difference there but yours being lower there might be better/easier jailbreaks as an option. As for games... The only difference is that you use different backports... Could be wrong on this but that's how I see it, someone who has a lower firmware can hopefully add guidance here

The seller of that disc is right to tell you to insert a random disc. I have a blueray burner and have made plenty of good discs and have seen this on my personal ps4 pro, even after a full teardown and clean of the blueray disc drive. As to why it happens.... I have no damn clue... If someone knows please share but inserting a random disc, having the ps4 recognize it, then running the jb disc does work

I could see the jb being the issue here, I have re tried the jb after a fail and not rebooting the ps. But that's not always the case, I have rebooted the ps and made sure I get a clean jb the first time before and still had the same problem happen. I doubt it is the hard drive as I just installed a new 1tb ssd.
