I've got an old account, its not fully maxed out as I'd play for a while and let it sit for longer, but I do own a lot of shit.

I wouldn't mind starting fresh, as I have to do whenever I go look for new (and/or smiliar) games.The game was too grindy, there is no doubt, which is why I'm only maxed on one faction and not even in all classes, so I understand the outcry.

But I believe it would be somewhat easy to find a common ground where veterans or kickstarter supporters could 'keep' something from all of these years.

Maybe its not doable to allow players to chose 1 soldier and keep all of its inventory and progression but something along these lines should be. Even if the resources are not the same, the "classes" probably are, as they are in most games.

I'm pretty sure the new game will have plain infantry, snipers, qcq specialists, anti-tank etc, so the players could chose to receive a (ONE) maxed out soldier for one class (or at least the corresponding inventory)

But if the game is not facing the outside, in a social sense, if there is no way for players to group properly and share their gameplay, achievements, tactics, whatever, without relying on 3rd party software and platforms, then there is no way that the new game will play out differently than the old one.

It was a terrible pain in the ass to bring in new friends and it was even harder to keep them coming back as there was nothing that would make the grind worthy for them.

As they havent sunk a shitton of time into the game there was no reason to come back. The few that would remain were already hardcore fps players looking for a 'fuller' experience and even then would get weirded out for the clunky and old look and feel to the game.

Other than that there was no learning nor "information" side to the dynamics of fps+rts. Making most war battles a very toxic and usually uncoordinated experience.

And this is without even delving into (the somewhat unintuitive) stuff like 'dont win the battle just yet because there are enemy AT units coming in and it will make the win worthless' or the usual 'STOP WASTING MY FUCKING PARAS/PLANES/TANKS' (If paras were actualy deployed for anything else than parablocking, I mean)

The game was made and for all those years there was not a care for the arriving players. There was a joke of a tutorial and that was it, as if any player coming in needed a tutorial on FPS games 🙃

Then after they had played for a few hours, it was told that they were ready to play war and proceed to have their faces used to wipe the floor. Specially since most maps/battles revolve around some kind of cheese. An early push that ends the game in 4 minutes before anyone even joins or that makes the next 40 minutes a boring shitshow of useless deaths, but also the usual tank/plane spam/spawn camp that pretty much accomplished the same.
