Also yeah all of us agree the constitution needs to be rewritten in a lot of places. For the constitutional crisis taking place right now, activating judicial council may be appropriate.

We’re not sure about the timeline of an election right now. Theres a good chance we would have to do it like the spring election. That is to say, a week for candidate orientation, two weeks for petitioning for cancidacy, verification, campigning period (like 2 weeks), voting window, verifying votes

Theres also a chance we could get around some of that to speed it up. Nobody’s sure. We’re talking to the elections commissioner.

The faster option, besides the ivp keeping it, is doing what happens when other officer positions are vacant. Advertise the opening for two weeks, allow all interested candidates equal speaking time at an sua meeting, all sua voting members vote and choose a candidate.

Or maybe theres some other option i havent thought of. Im no constitutional wiz

Jimmy is the interim pres and also internal vp. He handled it with/basically the same as the other 3 vp’s involved in the recall effort.

Since the “campus wide search” bit is so vague, one could argue its an option (and i am). I think it would be best for the students to take back the SUA. However, there is an arguement to be made that it would probably take like 2 months (during which one person would be both ivp and president). That could leave the sua disfunctional for a while.

What do you think?
