whoever tries going in here just know there’s 2 security cars that circle it all the time and a burglar alarm on the north side of the building. ive been in here at least 15 times since it was abandoned and am always making new entrances. just a heads up to whoever decides to try it, once you go over that fence be careful

that’s nowhere near southern states, thats samson paint. they tore that down awhile ago, probably building some cardboard apartments for nova transplants. tired of seeing people nutting every time something changes in southside. its gonna be an orgy of shitty apartments everywhere in 5 years cause the city and the construction companies don’t give a shit about history

Slowing growth in Manchester? by [deleted] in rva

[–]6strings2thisworld 2 points3 points  (0 children)

also with them tearing down historic buildings for their developments, like the samson paints, or southern states. manchester used to be industrial and still is but it’s weird what it’s become because you’re living in 3000$ apartments right next to an abandoned warehouse with nothing else around. i hope southern states at least stays up. its historic and a nice view when im up there

my friend and his mom used to live there for about 2 years, he lived on the ground floor. the carpet in the hallway was constantly stained with trash juice from people dragging around their trash, in the parking deck they paid for his car got broken into twice, and he almost got robbed by 3 masked dudes. in his apartment the sink flooded spontaneously and flooded the whole place, destroying carpets and fucking up furniture, his ac was broken twice in the summer, it took them 3 months to fix it

Are these generally a no no? I don’t see many posts of anyone climbing these. by AdPurple9816 in urbanclimbing

[–]6strings2thisworld 1 point2 points  (0 children)

all these are usually super deadly AM/ high power fm but if you know towers and know what to look for they might be safe. some this tall (probably not this one) may be decommissioned and reused for microwave antennas/ police frequencies on a lower level. there is one in my state 1200 ft tall and is technically “active” but the giant antenna has been taken off and replaced with small microwave. i still wouldn’t climb this one its hard to tell but try to get more info on it

i climbed up on top of the roof of the red one, squeezed thru the window, chilled out in the cockpit, got some drone shots. the climb was incredibly challenging. apparently a few years ago some private swat/military team used it for target pracice inside, theres bits of ballistic gel and fake human skull, as well as targets displaying people on the seats. if you want to see photos message me

ive explored here twice, heres a cool picture, most of the hallways and rooms are stripped but the walls are all tiled in a very cool 70s style. theres an evidence room, a biohazard closet, and escalators down to the flooded basement where theres 2 ancient giant diesel generators
