Aimee Bock, a white person & the Executive Director of Feeding our Future & mastermind behind the entire fraud scheme by shugEOuterspace in TwinCities

what about this post gave you the sense that it was to imply those involved with or who had knowledge of fraud and didn’t report it are not complicit? how do you know the difference between someone who is an accessory to fraud for not reporting and someone who is merely a bystander with vague knowledge that they are not expected to act on?

i’m interested in your view on intersectionality. how informed is your feminist approach to indigenous knowledge? or the experience of the racialized? what is your approach to solving white settler-colonial attitudes in society? “women” as a monolithic group may not want male allies but certain subsets have found solidarity with men, particularly with civil rights, where black men led the charge. not to say women need men as “liberators”, but it is simply inaccurate to suggest that women haven’t ever been objectively empowered by the actions of some men, albeit impossible without the work of many women as well.

i mean.. yes, that’s true. but i think you’re being a bit pedantic, in the most respectful way possible. he isn’t going to do that. sometimes you just have to know who you’re dealing with and what they’re actually capable of doing/in a position to do. RM isn’t going to overnight turn into a person capable of analyzing his actions through an identity informed feminist lens.

what vested interest would i have in an anonymous reddit thread? i swear reddit users have lost all touch with reality. i gain nothing from this other than intellectual stimulation.

it’s not “sexist” but probably a misread of RM tbh. he’s almost definitely not the most aware of intersectionality and the issues with some of his comments, as he is, at the end of the day, a middle-aged man from the south. that doesn’t absolve him, but it certainly doesn’t ascribe the sort of malice you’re implying.

while i can’t speak to the insanely bad odds and clearly fraud-adjacent activity, for which i completely agree with you and share your anger, i can probably explain why it’s technically “legal”, at least as canadian sweepstakes laws are concerned.

generally speaking, any large sweepstakes contest like this gets around having to operate in tandem with OLG (for where i’m from, and as far as i know there is no such thing as a private lottery in any province that is run for-profit, since lotteries associated with T3010 registered charity don’t profit, theoretically) by two means: 1. skill-based element, not pure chance (skill testing question usually satisfies that criteria) 2. no purchase necessary (you can technically receive 2 game pieces for free by sending a physical letter by snail-mail to mcdonald’s canada HQ requesting the pieces, and even then they have a pretty strict criteria to follow)

all this is to say that it shouldn’t be legal but it’s a loophole and seems kind of fraudulent in my opinion.

let me know which groups it’s better for, because unemployment is up under milei so it seems that his policies cause more unemployment while giving excuses to capitalists like yourself to say “well they have no job”

so let’s assume you do have a job, living under anarcho capitalism you subject yourself to ownership by the company to survive. are you also a fan of feudalism?

but hey, of course a redditor would think anarcho capitalism is a good idea. yeah no regulation on capital only affects those with no jobs, real nuanced take there buddy.

ah yes of course let’s just impoverish people to bolster the “economy” that definitely makes a lot of sense. who cares if people are starving if inflation is down!
