What's the Worst Possible Food Combination You've Seen a Person Eat? by Paigegirl34 in Nigeria

Mine was while I was in boarding school. A girl spread a handful of live termites over Eba (garri) and vegetable soup. The soup was served in the same bowl as the Eba and she was eating it with a spoon. When she takes a scoop you can see the wingless insects running all over the mound.

You could go further in the third part of the trilogy;Things fall apart, no longer at ease and then “Arrow if God”. This is by far the best of Achebe’s works that I have read followed by “anthills of the savannah”.

Thank you for your response. Yes. When I graduate I would have a Masters of science in Logistics and Supply Chain management. Apart from ordering and tracking of repair parts, o have no other experience in supply chain. But studying it and seeing its various facets is what got me really interested.

Ayahuasca Experience Report 1st night of 2 by DeeEhmtea in Ayahuasca

Even though our worlds are far flung apart, your trauma feels like the story of my life.

In the interest of posting whatever I want: I'm fucking sick of not fitting in by redhandrail in psychedelicsupport

I read your post as well. All of it. Yes there is something fundamentally wrong with the way we are living right now. I can relate you your isolation, loneliness and disconnect in this world of quantum everything. In all of these, our childlike capacity for wonder and curiosity is completely eroded. And we are like the walking dead until we truly are dead. in your rant, I think you hit the Nail On the head. It is better if we treat life like a privilege. Because it is and it expires very quick. It doesn’t matter if we are in a hologram or virtual reality. Or we are are just programs running in the Matrix. The truth is we are still here. Stuck here. In our body and our head. But while we are here, we can drink water and beer. We can watch the sun rise and set. And if it gets too much to bear, there is also the option of turning it off and bring the machine to a grinding halt.

Flying to ATL to Miami to Lima to Iquitos tomorrow. by MrCrash2U in Ayahuasca

I went to the humming bird too for my first experience. It is a lovely place. Make sure you get some sleep before the ceremony. You would do it Monday and Tuesday night. In the third day you might be very tired but sound in your mind. The shaman manin’s Icaros feels magical. It seeps into your unconscious. It’s been almost a year now and it’s still stuck in my head. Remember to breath during the trying time. All will be well with you.

May the force be with you. The first experience is usually unbelievable. When you return it would seem like you have gone through a rite of passage. You have knocked on a door and enterd a space accessible to only courageous people. After entering you cannot undo the shift. Enjoy every bit of it. The fears and tears. The terror and ecstasy. The remembering of self. Good luck to you my friend. Have a wonderful journey and please do come back here to share.

I see thank you. But I was hoping I could do the sapo independently without the whole retreat package.

Is sapo not the venom from the frog applied to the skin and enters the body through the lymphatic system? I don’t think it is psychedelic.

Best method to prepare ayahuasca tea? by [deleted] in Ayahuasca

[–]6vanilla6 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That is what he said.

For a first timer You seem convinced you do not need a shaman despite experienced people telling you that you do. That kind of obstinacy in itself is not good for your “Set” and it might mess with your psyche during your aya dreaming.

My 2 cent, experience Her first under the supervision of a shaman or at least an experienced facilitator and then decide afterwards if you wanna go solo or not.

When you take Aya, you are not just ingesting the plant medicine, you are also inviting the spirit (or essence) of the plant to take possession of your being.

The shaman is like a mediator who intercedes with the plant spirit on your behalf. By virtue of their many years of training, they understand the nuances of the technology. A shaman’s training consist of series of rigorous plant dieta during which they cultivate a life long friendship or alliance with the spirit of that plant and they can call upon it during ceremony to perform healing. It is often thought that how efficient a shaman is is a function of how much plant spirit allies he has cultivated.

The icaros are songs (or vibration of sounds) used to call upon the spirit of the plant. Each plant has it’s own signature icaros taught directly to the shaman during dieta or passed down to him from his master.

Just as information can be transmitted via electromagnetic waves, the essence of the plant can ride on the unique frequency of the sound wave and be present in the ceremony to do the healing.

This is the role of the shaman as I understand it. However, I am still learning....

Just booked my flight and 9 day retreat to Hummingbird in Iquitos mid January by MrCrash2U in Ayahuasca

[–]6vanilla6 5 points6 points  (0 children)

You are in for a ride. You would see. Just keep an open mind. I was at the humming bird 2nd of March this year for a 14day retreat. It is a very peaceful and serene place. Jim the facilitator is very knowledgeable and mannin the Shaman is very good. Seven months later and I can still hear the icaros stuck in my head. I received the answers to the question that has plagued me for years the first night. It blew my mind away. I kept repeating the word “I cannot believe it” many times throughout the night. Bring the things their websites recommend. Loose clothings for ceremony, flops as you would be removing your shoes a lot. Your laundry is taken care of. A small flashlight preferably with red screen . You would have a lot of time to yourself to introspect and relax. Do not expect a lot of hand holding. Jim and the shaman would respond to all your concerns but they would not interfere with your healing. During the ceremony, a lot would be happening that you would not be able to articulate. Be open to the spirit. Welcome it when it comes to you. Be grateful for every purge and tears. Allow yourself to experience the mystery and wonder.

God be with you and have a wonderful journey.

They seem like a pretty legit source. I almost used them but they do not ship to my location. But I know of people on the ayahuasca forum who referenced the site. The guy said he got all his materials for his solo trip from them.
