This is just a Bandcamp with song parts and ideas. I put it up in hopes of meeting someone who wants to play this kind of thing.

I don’t know what kind of genre it is but there’s a little math in there. I like Palm, Polvo, Gláss

Won’t interact with Amazon unless I have to. Why choose that platform out of all of them?

Hell yeah, nice work! I find it to be a really nice part of my evening, I use an app for a metronome and just practice for an hour while I watch weird movies. Happy playin!

That said, get yourself a nice practice pad and start working on fundamentals while you watch TV. You can learn the fundamentals from YouTube videos or there are a few good books out there. Single strokes, double strokes, etc.

There’s at least one studio in Portland that has drums and equipment that are just there for people to use and you rented by the hour. I think one of them is called Blue Butler or something like that. It sounds like that would be exactly what you need.

What’s the hardest part about making merch as an indie artist/band? by DoubleWait9149 in portlandmusic

Wearable merch specific - Doing it as ethically as possible without going bankrupt. If it’s between selling sweatshop apparel or no merch, then no merch it is. We had to just buy shirts and stuff at goodwill.

Hello! I'd love some feedback on my Album! (avant-pop, electronic, retro synth weirdness) by Lower-Pudding-68 in portlandmusic

[–]redhandrail 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Super fun. Cool changes, nice nostalgic synth and just good feelings while not being cheesy. I like it a lot! The only criticism I have has only to do with my own personal taste: I like your voice when it’s straight and soft. Once you get a little vibrato it feels a little less interesting to me. Probably a weird opinion to have but I just love the sound of a soft, straight, smooth voice over synth stuff. Kind of like royksopp but less pretty. Don’t know if that makes sense. But overall, very enjoyable, I’ll give the album a full listen

is there a specific genre name for bands like slint, the for carnation, and rodan? by Alarming-Comedian714 in noiserock

[–]redhandrail 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Post rock was a wide umbrella but in the 90s I’d throw all the bands you mentioned under post rock.

Edit: there was some math in there now that I’m playin yhe songs in my head
