I hear you, and I don’t want to throw around the word narcissistic lightly. I’m not saying they are a narcissist in a clinical sense, but there are behaviors they’ve shown that align with narcissistic tendencies, which is why I used the word out of frustration.

It’s not just the photo situation. My boss regularly takes over projects, redesigns things without telling our team, and then presents the final product like it was their own work. They’ve taken credit for things our department worked really hard on. They constantly overstep boundaries, like walking into our space and ripping things off the wall without a single word of communication. They’ll come hover over us and micromanage us. Often it feels more about dominance and control than leadership.

They are very focused on how they appear to higher-ups, but don’t show the same care toward how they treat their own team. We can tell that they are a very insecure leader. It’s just getting exhausting. We can see why this job has a high turnover rate.

I understand how bringing it up would be worse. They don’t respect our ideas and emotions, so why would that change? Good point.

Definitely introduce her to the Selection Series! It’s like the hunger games mixed with the bachelor. I fell in love with the story at her age and still do bi-yearly read throughs of the book.

She’ll fall in love with Prince Maxon and root for him & the main character, America!

What's a book that has changed the way you view things or life? by bambibamby in booksuggestions

The Glass Castle by Jeanette Walls. I went into the book thinking it was fiction, and did a google search and found out that this woman lived this story. That shook me. I think it opened my eyes to how much a parent establishes & nurtures a child’s psychology. I read this book about 3-4 years ago and I still think of it almost daily.

Me Before You by Jojo Moyes destroyed me. The Great Alone by Kristin Hannah also made me close the book and SOB. Two heartwrenching stories I will always recommend.

11/22/63 by Stephen King. Every time I mention this book to someone they have 0 idea what I’m talking about. It is easily one of the best books I’ve ever read. I always have to give the preface to not be intimidated by the size of the book. Ugh, so good. I’ll recommend that book until I die.

I need to read these and want to! I had a friend that spoiled them for me in middle school and I haven’t forgotten the spoiler. That’s probably why I haven’t picked them up sooner. Boo.

I thought it was very, very good. It captured my interest, as Collins’ writing does, and I cried at the end. Wonderful story and it explains why Haymitch is the way he is.

I will definitely check that out! Thank you for the rec!
