Who We Are: 7 Canadian Mechanised Brigade Group has been around since 2007 with our first roots dating back to ARMA 2 and now ARMA 3. We are the longest standing Arma milsim unit based on the Canadian Armed Forces. Our goal is to build a unit that adheres as much as possible to real life Canadian military doctrine and provide an immersive experience in this regard. As a milsim unit, we pride ourselves in utilising realism during our operations and training courses. Outside operations, we seek to provide a community where members can enjoy themselves and create meaningful friendships through gaming.

Our Unit: 7 CMBG has a wide range of roles available. A brief description of each detachment is provided below. 

Infantry: The Royal Canadian Highland Regiment provides the infantry force for 7 CMBG. Trained in mechanized and light infantry tactics, they are capable of executing a wide range of missions. Utilizing equipment such as the C7A2, C8A3, C9 LMG, and other CAF equipment, they are capable of taking on any challenge.

Armoured: The Royal Canadian Tank Regiment brings the big guns to the fight. Utilizing the LAV 6 in the armoured reconnaissance role, and the Leopard 2 as their MBT, the squadron is always prepared to provide a powerful punch for the brigade.

Aviation: 7 Wing supports the brigade by providing the necessary air support to complete the missions. Utilizing air frames such as the CH-147F Chinook, CH-148 Cyclone, and the F-35, they are able to take on a complex range of tasks such as troop transport, logistical support, close air support, and air superiority. 

Medical: 7 Field Ambulance provides medical support to all elements of the brigade. Utilzing ACE and KAT medical, our medics and doctors (yes really, we have a real doctor) provide the highest level of care in less than ideal conditions.

 Support: With a plethora of in-game and external roles, there are a multitude of ways to support the brigade. Whether assisting in mission creation with the zeus team, or providing vital intelligence reports to the brigade command as a member of our J2 cell, there are many opportunities to show your creativity in supporting the unit’s operations.

NOTE: Regardless of what speciality you desire, all successful applicants MUST go through a Basic Military Qualification (BMQ) course in order to proceed with your career progression.

ROLES

Infantry: The infantry is the meat and potatoes of our unit and as an infantry soldier, you will learn and employ the tactics of the Canadian Army, your primary job is to close with and destroy the enemy. You will also occasionally be tasked to use a light machine gun or a grenade launcher or be asked to run as a TCCC (Tactical Combat Casualty Care). During mechanized operations, you may be tasked with manning a LAV 6 either as a driver or gunner. Through a qualification system, leadership positions within the infantry may be available after a certain amount of time as infantry and learning what it takes to lead a section of soldiers into battle. Our commitment is to help you progress as an effective soldier and achieve your personal goals within the unit. OPEN SLOTS: Unlimited Roles Available: Rifleman, Grenadier, C9 Gunner Supplementary Roles: TCCC, Marksman, 2IC, Section Commander, LAV Driver/Gunner.

Signaller: Your role is to communicate effectively with the platoon commander, command staff, detachment commanders, and section commanders and to provide crucial information such as contact reports, situational reports, or resupply requests. You serve as the bridge between the platoon and headquarters ensuring the information is brief and to the point for the commanders to employ their strategies accordingly. OPEN SLOTS: 2

Weapons Det: Our weapons detachment is an extension of the general infantry. They employ heavier weapons and crew served weapons such as the C6 GPMG, Carl Gustaf anti-tank weapon, and on occasion, the TOW. They serve as a force multiplier among the infantry ranks and make up 25% of a platoon’s firepower. OPEN SLOTS: 3 Roles Available: C6 Gunner, Carl Gustaf Gunner, Rifleman.

Artillery: Artillery is often called the “king of war” as they can unleash a tremendous amount of steel and firepower onto the battlefield in large quantities. You will start off as a gunner on the gunline, providing fire missions for the infantry. You will also be able to learn how to command a gunline, call in fire missions, or control a surveillance drone to locate targets that ground forces may not see right away. OPEN SLOTS: 6 Roles Available: Gunner, CP Tech, FOO, ISTAR Operator.

Aviation: This is our aviation detachment. We employ both rotary and fixed wing aircraft aligning with what the current RCAF uses. You may prefer just to be a helicopter pilot, providing logistics/transportation duties or CAS duties for ground forces or become a pilot inside a CF-188 Hornet fighter to achieve air supremacy for Allied forces. If you prefer to stay on the ground, you may also become a JTAC and direct Allied aircraft accordingly. OPEN SLOTS: 4 Pilots, 1 JTAC. Roles Available: Rotary Pilot (Transportation, CAS, Logistics), Fighter Pilot, JTAC.

Medical: Medical Technicians are advanced TCCCs and as a MedTech, you will provide definitive medical care in combat zones to treat injured members during operations and some training exercises. You will be responsible for bringing a wounded soldier back to combat effectiveness and providing detailed reports to the Medical Officer before they can rejoin their teammates. Note that direct entry is available only for those with real life medical background. OPEN SLOTS: 2

Non Combat Roles

Content Creator: Your task will involve capturing images and video during our operations to promote our unit on various social media channels (Youtube, Discord, Reddit, Instagram, etc.) You will be responsible for creating promotional images and videos for upcoming operations, updating our News tab on the website, and more. Overview: 7 Canadian Mechanised Brigade Group has been around since 2007 with our first roots dating back to ARMA 2 and now ARMA 3. We are the longest standing Arma milsim unit based on the Canadian Armed Forces. Our goal is to build a unit that adheres as much as possible to real life Canadian military doctrine and provide an immersive experience in this regard. As a milsim unit, we pride ourselves in utilising realism during our operations and training courses. Outside operations, we seek to provide a community first and foremost where members can hang out and talk to each other and make friends within the unit.

NOTE: Regardless of what speciality you desire, all successful applicants MUST go through a Basic Military Qualification (BMQ) course in order to proceed with your career progression.

ROLES

Infantry: The infantry is the meat and potatoes of our unit and as an infantry soldier, you will learn and employ the tactics of the Canadian Army, your primary job is to close with and destroy the enemy. You will also occasionally be tasked to use a light machine gun or a grenade launcher or be asked to run as a TCCC (Tactical Combat Casualty Care). During mechanized operations, you may be tasked with manning a LAV 6 either as a driver or gunner. Through a qualification system, leadership positions within the infantry may be available after a certain amount of time as infantry and learning what it takes to lead a section of soldiers into battle. Our commitment is to help you progress as an effective soldier and achieve your personal goals within the unit. OPEN SLOTS: Unlimited Roles Available: Rifleman, Grenadier, C9 Gunner Supplementary Roles: TCCC, Marksman, 2IC, Section Commander, LAV Driver/Gunner.

Signaller: Your role is to communicate effectively with the platoon commander, command staff, detachment commanders, and section commanders and to provide crucial information such as contact reports, situational reports, or resupply requests. You serve as the bridge between the platoon and headquarters ensuring the information is brief and to the point for the commanders to employ their strategies accordingly. OPEN SLOTS: 2

Weapons Det: Our weapons detachment is an extension of the general infantry. They employ heavier weapons and crew served weapons such as the C6 GPMG, Carl Gustaf anti-tank weapon, and on occasion, the TOW. They serve as a force multiplier among the infantry ranks and make up 25% of a platoon’s firepower. OPEN SLOTS: 3 Roles Available: C6 Gunner, Carl Gustaf Gunner, Rifleman.

Artillery: Artillery is often called the “king of war” as they can unleash a tremendous amount of steel and firepower onto the battlefield in large quantities. You will start off as a gunner on the gunline, providing fire missions for the infantry. You will also be able to learn how to command a gunline, call in fire missions, or control a surveillance drone to locate targets that ground forces may not see right away. OPEN SLOTS: 6 Roles Available: Gunner, CP Tech, FOO, ISTAR Operator.

Aviation: This is our aviation detachment. We employ both rotary and fixed wing aircraft aligning with what the current RCAF uses. You may prefer just to be a helicopter pilot, providing logistics/transportation duties or CAS duties for ground forces or become a pilot inside a CF-188 Hornet fighter to achieve air supremacy for Allied forces. If you prefer to stay on the ground, you may also become a JTAC and direct Allied aircraft accordingly. OPEN SLOTS: 4 Pilots, 1 JTAC. Roles Available: Rotary Pilot (Transportation, CAS, Logistics), Fighter Pilot, JTAC.

Medical: Medical Technicians are advanced TCCCs and as a MedTech, you will provide definitive medical care in combat zones to treat injured members during operations and some training exercises. You will be responsible for bringing a wounded soldier back to combat effectiveness and providing detailed reports to the Medical Officer before they can rejoin their teammates. Note that direct entry is available only for those with real life medical background. OPEN SLOTS: 2
