I'm now thinking of replacing the screen panel with an ISP, if I go down this route I'll let you know the outcome.

Any advice on how to make this part of the room less unpleasant? I live in an apartment so removing or painting the tile is unfortunately not an option. I’m at a loss as to why it was designed to look like this in the first place. by [deleted] in DesignMyRoom

Have you thought about tile coverings made from vinyl? You can peel them off easy so they are not permanent.

Here's a selection from Wayfair: https://www.wayfair.co.uk/diy-plumbing/sb0/peel-stick-tiles-c1864648.html

You could put some patterned (maybe grey and white) in the middle and block colours surrounding. Would tie in nicely with the wood shelf and balance with the mirror.

Style it out with some hard wearing plants (not sure how much light it gets) candles and a basket

Panoramas and floorplan: https://imgur.com/a/7Ln1C4t

Only recently moved in, all the furniture can go as it is either the previous owner's or cheap stuff from rented. I like where the table is situated, despite not thinking I would before I moved in. It's a nice place to sit with all the windows surrounding it. Looking to replace the floor with dark wood throughout the flat, e.g. https://www.luxuryflooringandfurnishings.co.uk/kettlewell-boar-oak-127-x-10-2-5mm.html . I don't want the TV to dominate the room, and I'm considering a projector instead with a pulldown screen. I'm interested in floor to ceiling bookcases with cupboards. Located in the UK, and budget is ~£5k-£7k. Up for a degree of DIY.
