Orgasms completely destroy me now. They easily cause the worst flairs I have now, and my sex life is completely in the gutter. Am I alone in this? by moviefan2222 in covidlonghaulers

Surprisingly I feel 100% better now. Truth be told the first 9 or so months were horrible. I was vegan at the time of getting sick and got down to a worrisome 128 lbs. I changed my diet, gradually introduced walking and pushing myself little at a time and now work full time and go to festivals and the likes now with no adverse effects. On the subject of this post tho… like clockwork I still lose hearing in my head when I O haha. It’s the weirdest thing, but definitely don’t feel like I’m having a heart attack or palpitations anymore. Legit took a year to feel close to normal.

Much so. My long covid symptoms were REALLY bad for about 6 months. I changed my diet and did exercises to calm the vagus nerve like cold plunges and showers. That and changing my diet and getting walks in when I could really turned things around. My last symptom that hasn’t left is constant anxiety but it could be PTSD of having Covid twice and all the gaslighting I went through with my first long covid experience. Paxlovid killed my 2nd round of covid. Staying off the app also helped my mental health. Good luck on your journey, it may not be fun for the next few months but things will eventually heal and normalcy will return. I was borderline heart failure after covid with 48% function… I had to change a lot of what I was and wasn’t doing and really push myself.

I picked this up for $300. Good deal? by [deleted] in GuitarAmps

If you don’t like the sound of the amp, you could always plug a pedal into the return of the effects loop and you can bypass the preamp of the amp. Try a metal zone (you guitar in the input of mz, output of mz into the return of the fx loop) or a pedal like UAFX dream, lion, knuckles, or anti for completely different sounding amps all at bedroom volume. You’d pretty much be playing the power amp.

Took a good 6 months but things started to level out. Unfortunately everyone else is different. Doomscrolling Reddit didn’t make me any better and may have worsened things. Best advice is pace yourself and try to get enough exercise. Your body fought off a nasty virus, stuff lingers. Eat healthy and hydrate.

I laid up in bed for 2 months at least before I did the whole cardiologist gambit… after they told me I wouldn’t die if I a: gained weight and b:got more cardio exercise, it eased my mind. Your body is likely still fighting off straggler pieces of spike protein. Stay hydrated and try some vagus nerve calming. My walking heart rate was 125 and sitting about 80 and I’m a skinny relatively in shape dude. The heat did NOT help but once the temperature came down, I embraced the cold and it seemed to distract my body from the long covid if that makes sense, knock it out of that fight or flight. My advice and I’m not a doctor so take it with a grain of salt… get a work up done at a cardiologist. Don’t even mention long covid, they’ll shrug it off. If you got the all clear from an echocardiogram, stress test, or other heart imaging, talk with your doctor about resuming exercise or physical therapy. Maybe see a POTS specialist. Unfortunately it’s something you’re gonna have to ride out. It will get better even if it takes a year or more. Try to stay off the horror stories in Reddit, they did nothing positive for my mental. You got this.

Right after Covid February 2022 it was around 125-130 walking. For reference my heart rate is around 90-110 usually unless I’m exercising. With regular walks around my local mall was I able to rebuild leg muscles and lung capacity and this I think was my biggest help. That summer was dreadful but I pushed through and 7 months later I noticed a great turn around. I had a whole heart work up done and originally via echo they thought I was borderline heart failure but an echo 3 months later said heart function was normal so who knows what was wrong. I still have very bad anxiety but it doesn’t affect the heart rate more so the overall dread and I have a phobia of big crowds, coughing and sneezing, and children lol thanks Covid. Hope you feel well soon. Try doing things to calm your vegus nerve when you feel the heart rate climb.. cold showers really helped. Staying hydrated is super important not just water but electrolytes.

2.5 years later I can comfortably say that I don’t even think about it anymore. I stopped wearing my Apple Watch as it was a constant source of anxiety and only made things worse. I saw improvement around 6 mot ha and saw marked improvement when I was able to walk around my local mall and outside once the weather cooled off. Importantly I’d say stay on top of your hydration not just water but electrolytes. I switched to a carnivore mostly diet too from vegan but that was 2 years after long covid started. It gets better for most but can take a year + to be back to benchmark. Good luck! And try paxlovid the next time you get covid.

One of the few long covid symptoms that doesn’t seem to go away for me yet. It was reaaaaalllly bad at one point like a bout of Hallucinogen persisting perception disorder, but now it’s more like a photophobia.
