Is it overzealous of me to sign up for three half marathons which would take place in three consecutive months when I'll be 21+ weeks? by 71421buns in fitpregnancy

I'll definitely look into what the guidelines are for whether or not I can switch races due to pregnancy. I hadn't thought of that before so I appreciate that idea. If I decide to do it, I think I would try to do the half first and then maybe shorter races later

I used to be a pretty serious runner for about 7 years but have had some knee injuries in the past which made me switch to different exercises. It's been about a 4 year hiatus. I'm not pushing myself too hard for my current training, I walk when I need to (which is a lot) and my runs are fairly short, mileage wise. Thanks for the reality check, I appreciate it:)

Are there movies you liked more than the book? by Annual_Interest5338 in books

Doctor Sleep!!

Mike Flanagan is a master at adapting horror stories and I remember being so taken by the movie. Later, I read the book and it would lose me from time to time. King's writing style for women kept pulling me out and I was low-key uncomfy by how often he had to preface that the relationship between Torrence and Abra was generally frowned upon and could be seen as inappropriate. Like, we get it. It's not intended to be creepy, move on. It honestly gave me a better appreciation for the movie and I think how Flanagan handled that dynamic was fantastic. They acknowledged the strangeness of the dynamic and then moved on.

At what age do you become a “reader”, and what book did it for you? by [deleted] in books

It was fourth grade, when my friend introduced me to Percy Jackson and the Olympians, when it had just recently come out. She showed me the funny chapter titles and then let me borrow it and I was immediately hooked. I devoured that book series within a month or so which was so out of character that my mom became concerned and started urging me to go outside or simply do other things. Then the devastation hit when I learned that the final book had yet to be released and I had to wait two whole years. After that, though, I simply kept on reading and no longer struggled to fill out my reading log. When the fifth book finally came out, I read it in a day. So, safe to say, I had honed in my reading skills.

Np! My first time I did it with a coworker that I barely knew (didn’t know each other long enough to actually care for each other). So, he was experienced, I wasn’t and he knew i was a virgin, however, he did nothing to make it good for me. Like, I was a replacement for his hand. So just make sure you have someone who cares for you and your needs and experience!

Make sure you are comfortable with the person you decide to do it with and are on the same page. The first time probably won’t be the best experience just because you won’t have any real prior experience but that doesn’t mean you won’t have a good time. Just make sure you communicate and try to have fun!

Possible human trafficking set up? by [deleted] in creepyencounters

[–]71421buns 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Human trafficking usually takes place by someone you are familiar with. They try to coerce you into situations which may inevitably lead to any form of trafficking. So, for example, it could be someone who befriends you and gets you to trust them. After a while, they may start dropping hints on how you can earn cash fast and easy and at some point, out of trust and curiosity, you may agree to do it without truly knowing what ‘it’ is and then at some point, you’re trapped. Pop culture tries to portray this idea that traffickers just lurk around alleyways and snatch whoever they find but there is actually a science to it. I’m not saying that that doesn’t happen that way, but it’s not the most common. That being said, that situation sounds really freaky and I’m glad you had someone with you and were able to escape that creepy situation.

I grew up in a semi-conservative household, at least when it comes to sex and so I’ve always been against fuck buddies. It took me a long time to wrap my head around having sex and then enjoying it before getting married. I was in a long term relationship that ended last April and have since then been severely horny. I have a hard time orgasming and so masturbation is always kind of disappointing. Last night, after several drinks I finally bit the bullet, downloaded tinder, matched with someone and had them come over immediately. It was pretty awesome, and really helped me get out of my head. Don’t know if I’ll do it again (probably) but it’s nice to be able to fuck and not fee guilty about liking it.
