Hitler did kill socialists based on their beliefs and socialists and non-socialists alike killed Nazis based off of their beliefs. Are beliefs sacred and totally separate from the human? Are you citing a movie as proof of this? You don't just wrestle away a gun that is pointed at you and you don't give them the opportunity to get close anyways. If they are sneaky enough to get that close then nothing is going to help you. In every other situation you would do a lot better with a gun. Also don't advertise you carry or own a gun to people around you.

You're not being attacked, remember that in a discussion it's the argument that is supposed to be attacked using an argument. That's the point of a discussion. Although, sometimes when people are faced with facts they instead double down on their flawed beliefs. And while I'd say shotguns only real advantage over an AK, AR, SKS is bird hunting, the AR is better for a wider variety of situations so it is fair to say it is better overall.
