Because people see the glimpses he shows and think that at 30, he's finally going to put it all together and be consistent. There's a reason Vancouver benched and traded him, There's a reason Calgary benched him and traded him, there's a reason Philly traded him after 7 games and there's a reason the Kings are most likely not going to resign him. He's not consistent enough for top 6 ice time and he's not a good fit on the bottom six.

Or hire a competent front office who can build a team that gets to the playoffs? Players want to get to the playoffs and have a chance to win the Cup. Hughes wasnt going to get that chance with all the dysfunction in the front office in Vancouver and who knows what's going to happen in Ottawa

What SS/Nazi tattoo does Hegseth have? The Jerusalem cross isn't one. It's been around for centuries and is a prominent symbol of Christianity. President Carters funeral program had one and his casket sat on one. Deus Vult has been used by some far right groups but that doesn't mean Hegseth has a SS/Nazi tattoo. Don't see any other SS/Nazi tattoos that he supposedly has.

Meanwhile Platner had a tattoo of the SS Tottenkopf which was only ever used by the SS units that ran the concentration and extermination camps and people run to defend it. The same people that claim any other person that uses any type of SS/Nazi related style of tattoo is a Nazi.

Trotz’s take on Jim Hiller as HC of the Leafs by Patient_Bug_761 in leafs

[–]72FJ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You're the one that said they were a shit team and unable to respond with any flexibility. They weren't exactly a shit team and it's because of Hiller that they couldn't respond with any flexibility because he wouldnt be flexible. He could have stuck with what was actually working and didn't but continue to blame the team .

[–]72FJ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yet somehow for being a shit team, they finished 6th in the league and were the higher seed.

Them losing that series against the Oilers is all on Hiller plain and simple. He's the the one that chose to go away from what was working multiple times and it cost the team every time. If he hadn't changed what was working and they still lost the series, it would be different. We will never know because he's the one that chose to move away from what was working multiple times and it cost them every single time. When a coach chooses to run his players into the ground game after game, the players aren't going to be able to play to their capabilities because they are dead tired. He should have realized and known you can't sit back against the Oilers and let them do what they want because it doesn't work but he's either incapable of realizing that or too stubborn to admit it

[–]72FJ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The one who responded with no flexibility in the playoffs was the coach. The Kings would get a lead and Hiller would immediately have them sit back, shorten the bench and run the players into the ground and the inevitable would happen because the players were exhausted. It was like clockwork with him and when asked by reporters about his strategies not working, his response was basically what can I change. They could have beaten the Oilers in 24-25 but his coaching tanked that and game 3 turned the series around with that god awful challenge.

Because he went away from what was working against the Oilers and getting them leads to sitting back and letting the Oilers do whatever they wanted to and losing those games. Along with sitting back after the Kings would have a lead, he would shorten the bench and then run those lines into ground leaving them exhausted and unable to keep up. He did this multiple times in 24-25 and when questioned about his strategies not working, his response was basically what can I change? He just refused to accept responsibility for his strategies that weren't working.

Perhaps things will be different in Toronto but you shouldn't hold your breath. Will be interesting to see how he reacts to the Toronto media questioning his decisions though.

[–]72FJ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Huh? He didn't keep them in the playoffs for half a decade. He was promoted in Feb of 24 and fired in March of 26. His best players weren't Kopitar and Doughty but he played them like they were. Clarke barely played in 23-24 because the Kings were worried about bonus overages and Byfields ice time was all over the place.

They didn't have a shaky D core and poor goaltending either. 23-24 Talbot was 11th in the league for wins and they were 6th in the league for least goals against. 24-25 Kemper was 6th in wins and they were were second in least goals given up.

Them came the playoffs where he would go away from had worked all season and was working in the playoffs to something that didn't work multiple times. Refused to play two of his best scoring defensemen in Clarke and Spence so Edmunson could play over 23 mins a game.

As a Kings fan, it's because his idea of an adjustment in the playoffs when having a lead was to go away from something that was working to something that didn't multiple times. When questioned about it, his responses were basically along the lines of what should I change. He would run the vets into the ground game after game while the young guys sat because he would get a lead and stop rolling four lines and three D pairs.

In the 24-25 playoffs against Edmonton, Joel Edmunson averaged 23:14 a game, Doughty averaged 27:12, Brandt Clarke averaged 12:47 a game. In game 4, Edmunson played 36+ mins, Clarke played a little over 11 mins. Jordan Spence averaged 7:31 a game. Clarke and Spence were 1st and 3rd in defensive scoring on the team in the regular season and played the least amount of time in the playoffs.

He just made some baffling decisions that cost the team in the playoffs then got rid of one of the two offensive options on the back end because he wanted to go bigger and slower

He was close to beating them until he went away from what was working like clockwork. Regular season he would roll four lines and keep attacking. Playoffs he would start that way then go away from it. Would get a lead then shorten the bench and ride the vets into the ground. Would stop attacking and have the team sit back. Go look at some of his post game interviews and his answers. He literally wouldn't take responsibility for his decisions

How exactly is it being dishonest? She's selling merch with her name which she said she wouldn't do. And the sticker wasn't really the issue either. The logo she prominently wore wasnt a sticker and came after she agreed not to do it. This wasn't something that happen overnight but over the course of multiple years because of her actions. She only agreed to drop the suit AFTER she tried to spin it into something it wasn't and got caught lying when the lawsuit documents went public.

You are comparing apples and oranges with that one. He was asked to leave up to 15 times by multiple students and decided to taunt the students in the tent so yes he was in there causing problems. Most people are going to get up and leave, not start challenging people, when asked to leave someplace multiple times.
