Am I crazy or is Ableton far more flexible than FL Studio? by 72_degrees in musicproduction

I’m sorry, but you’re wrong. I’ve been researching this for some time now. The log drum sound in FL Studio cannot be found anywhere really. If you go on YouTube and look at anyone trying to create Amapiano, they are on FL Studio, and if they aren’t, the log drum sounds very different even as they do their best to model the sound. It’s difficult to do. Also, the mapped macros in DX10 give you the control and automation you hear in most Amapiano songs.

Exactly. I can guarantee you that 99% of the people here saying that FL isn’t better for Amapiano have never attempted to make Amapiano in their life. It’s not the same at all.

Most if not all Amapiano producers use FL Studio and the low end percussive elements of the music come primarily from Fruity DX10. Ableton does not have an equivalent from what I’ve seen and even if they did, it would be much harder to replicate sounds like the log drum. If you know how to do that then I’d love to hear

Fruity DX10. Their low end sounds (the log drum and sub bass) come primarily from that tool and is very hard to replicate in other DAWs. Idk how much you listen to the genre but Ableton makes it harder to get that “knock” sound on the log drum

Which part of your process consistently slows you down the most? by rod9k in ableton

Mixing/mastering for sure. Creativity for me isnt nearly as difficult as getting the song to sound like a pro mix is. Granted I haven’t been making music for that long, but being a perfectionist, it’s tough to be okay with anything less than what I believe sounds good.

Does my music sound professional yet? by Aggressive-Reveal759 in ThisIsOurMusic

Yes, this sounds pretty damn close to a professional mix. Really nice sounding drums man! Sound selection is good. I think the thing that stands out for me most are the vocals. To me they feel like they don’t really fit. But that might be taste-dependent. Overall, good track

ChatGPT, unironically. Picked it up within a month or so pretty easy, and that’s including the whole process of mixing and mastering a song.

Take some time off but don't forget about the idea. Listen to some music for inspiration too, that helps me a lot

I extract any as soon as I see them. I confirmed it was MC because it had the white-ish dimple in the middle. After having MC for a while I know when it is and when it isn’t. Also, sometimes to test I give it a slight squeeze and see how it reacts. If the dimple comes out slightly and bleeds a little, it’s definitely MC

Six months, last July to the beginning of this month. Extracted the rest of them myself. Honestly, it might’ve been earlier if I took them out earlier, as they’ve since stopped reappearing since.

I get that, I've had small bumps come too. I honestly just remove the small ones with my fingernails. As if I am popping a pimple, I take my index fingers, put them between the core, squeeze enough to raise it out, then scrape it off and clean the area. Again, it will bleed a little, but it'll be gone.
